This weekend I spent my time at a training session for TLC (Teen Leadership Council). TLC is a program that changed my life when I was in High School. It helped me to understand what was happening in my life and in the lives of the people around me. It helped me to learn about the problems teens face and to understand I am not alone. I am somebody! and I make a difference to the world. With this knowledge I was able to make it through High School with the knowledge that I was going to become something!
For this reason I knew I had to get back into the program when I became an adult in order to help other teens make it through high school and then into college and then into life! Now that I am in college I will soon be an adult (I don't feel as if I am a full adult yet) and then I will know how to help these teens get over there problems and help them to have a support system. Without this system I would not be in college and I may not be alive it is this program that saved my life. I am convinced that this will save hundreds of other peoples lives if the word gets out that the UP has a program so wonderful!
I am glad that god gave me the opportunity to be a part of the UPs TLC program. I am also thankful that Johanna, Cody, and Jeremy are all a part of the program and will be there for me no matter what. This was an uplifting weekend and I know I will take the lessons I learned with me forever!
