On Sunday Chris took me to Big Bay. It was a really nice drive there because we got to spend some time talking and enjoy the amazing day. When we got there we ate at a place that is owned by the family of one of Chris's friends. It was a small town place with only a few menu options but all together really good food. It reminded me of when I was younger and I used to go with my dad up to our camp in Stevenson, MI. Every morning we would go into town and have breakfast at a small town restaurant and just enjoy the slow pace and the peace of the little town.
After we ate we went out to the lighthouse. Most of the light houses I have seen were just the tower and nothing else but this one was an actual house with the tower part coming out from the top. Behind the lighthouse was Lake Superior and we stood for a while and just looked out at the beautiful creation that God made. There were ice pieces floating on the half melted water and it was all so still it felt unreal. However, when you just stood and listened you could hear the ice cracking and the water splashing under the frozen ice. It was amazing and I was so glad to share it with Chris.
Then we sat in my car and started to read the Christian book we picked out "Boundaries in Dating." We wanted a book to read together so that our relationship would stay focused on God and on proper Christian values and our friends Jeremy and Emily have been reading this particular one and are enjoying it so we figured that it may be good for us. I think that so far it seems interesting but I hope we are able to make time to read it together because I hate reading one book for a long period of time.
Chris decided that after that we would go and see some of the water falls in that area so we picked out one that seemed easier to reach and headed toward it. About half way down this dirt road we started to reach mud and of course Chris speed up, silly boys. So my car got covered in mud. Then when we got to the falls there was too much snow and we were unable to see them. But I did not mind because it was a great day and all I really wanted was to get to spend some real time with Chris.
Then we drove back to the dorms and took a nap it was a really good day in general and it reminded me again how lucky I am that God has given Chris and me the opportunity to be together.
