what?
Merlin: The Disir I have no words, I think I actually gasped at the TV. The whole scene, the entire scene, was one built for Merlin to be honest, to show his magic. Even Arthur could see and sense that something was up with Merlin.
The emotion on Merlin's face as he warred with himself on how to answer Arthur's question about the Old Religion... I wanted to cry for Merlin. It was the best time, the only time, that Arthur would not have entirely freaked out, but the writers decided, no, no let Merlin lie. Let Merlin be the catalyst that starts Arthur's demise.
Let's freakin do that! Geezus. I don't think I'm going to make it through the rest of the series. Seriously, Merlin is so morose that it's hard to watch such a character, so full of life, become thing second hand person. Even Arthur has noticed that Merlin is not smiling.
There will be no lighthearted episodes, maybe not even lighthearted moments, not really. This whole season is one big downer, and we can see it, it's all barreling toward a not happy ending. Something I thought, in this myth, was impossible. We all know that Arthur grows old and rules over Camelot with the help of Merlin etc. We know this. I thought I was safe in this knowledge, but they are changing it. Too much talk of death, it's not a one off anymore, they are building the episodes around it.
And Merlin's face around the fire, I think ... it's just all so sad.
Hawaii 5-0: Hookman I will admit to not seeing the first one so it didn't bring back memories or something. Overall it was alright, liked the idea of the name on the bullet. Got to say that guy took a lot of time to put McGarret's name on a huge amount of bullets for Steve to still hold one in his hand that had his name after that shoot out.
There are a few one liners I enjoyed - like the entire gun shop visit, that was amusing. "Is he off his meds or always like this" *g* people just don't understand Danny. But Steve just accepts it, tells people to ignore it and move on. The whole Scarface comment by Steve about Danny was cute as well, although twice now Danny has had a high powered gun and hasn't been able to hit the suspect. But perhaps this guy was too far away? Since Kono got him? Hey, I like to make excuses for my guys.
The ending: either the ghosts or Danny's rant about not worrying about Steve dying in combat situations... left me a little cold. Didn't care for either. Thought the ghosts were heavy handed and Danny was over compenstating. It was ok. Although watching this after the heartwrenching Merlin ep I don't think I would have found much to be woohoo about.
