"it's about the long term survival and how we conduct ourselves"

TV:
Battlestar Galactica: Sacrifice So. I'm pissed off. I loved Billy and to watch him die -- angered me, I will actually admit to yelling at the TV screen. Loudly.

So there are some marines, Ellen Tighe, Dee, Billy and Lee all trying to get some R&R on Cloud 9's lounge. Dee is there with Lee, again bringing up the subject of them, that she doesn't know what to make of her and Apollo or even her and Billy. This is after Billy asks Dee to marry him by giving her his team ring. She turns him down and only says that she can't marry him. She never gives a reason, although when Billy sees Dee and Lee together at the lounge, he puts things together for himself. And while there is really nothing going on between them Billy assumes there is and Apollo apologizes anyway and looks guilty.

The funniest scene, or most pathetic depending on the way you look at it, is when Lee tugs on Ellen's arm and tells her the bathroom is that way. She thinks he's hitting on her, when all he's doing is getting her out of harms way. While in the bathroom he sneaks between the walls and finds the oxygen censor and blows dry ice (from Ellen's drink) onto it to make it think the room is losing oxygen, that was supposed to force Sesha and her group to open the pressure doors.

Dana Delaney guest stars are Sesha, a woman that lost her husband when a group of cylons attacked ten weeks previous. She wants revenge and since the press had been printing and hinting that Galactica had a cylon agent, she takes matters into her own hands. Herself and three men hold everyone in the lounge hostage, she contacts Admiral Adama and demands Sharon and exchange for the hostages - he has two hours. He knows that Apollo is there, but Starbuck is also already on Cloud 9 trying to get some relaxation also.

Apollo takes one of the gun men hostage and tries to talk to Sesha, but that doesn't go as planned. The room is getting low on oxygen, Sesha thinks it's the Admiral's doing and demands that they fix it. Adama tells Starbuck to have someone volunteer to go in and assess the situation, it was recon only. Starbuck, dressed as a maintenance person, gains access to the room. Everything is fine until one gunmen see Ellen's look of recognition or look of surprise, something from Ellen tipped him off, so he tells Starbuck to wait that he wants to inspect the tool box again. Starbuck uncovers her guns and turns around shooting. Everyone is shooting, moving, trying to either get out of the way, or move toward the gunmen to help. It was as Apollo moved to get into the fight that he was hit -- by Starbuck. It was horrible to see the look on her face as she realized it most probably was her that shot Apollo. Another marine is yelling that they have to leave, so they do, and Starbuck reports back to Adama on the casualties. She's honest and tells Adama that Lee was hit with friendly fire, and that she thinks it was her.

Inside Dee and Billy try to stop the bleeding and keep Apollo alive long enough to get out of the lounge. Dee sees Billy watching one of the gunmen, telling him that he can't overpower the gun away from him, just wait. But Billy continues to look even though he nods in agreement.

Adama and Roslin are at a stalemate with Sesha as neither is willing to give. Adama promises Sharon, but she'll already be dead because if Sesha was right and that the Sharon was "playing" him, than he wanted to kill her. Sesha agrees. Adama arrives with the dead body of Sharon, Sesha puts a few bullets in her head, but it turns out it's the original Sharon, the one that shot Adama, the one that was killed while being taken through the halls. A gunmen notices this and the shooting starts again.

This time a handful of marines barge into the room and start taking out the gun men. Billy gets a gun, shoots a gunmen but gets shot himself. Dee leaves Apollo's side and runs over to Billy, but it's too late. He's dead. She kisses his hand and cries, but that isn't going to bring Billy back. Billy, the young man that showed much growth at the beginning of the episode by stating his opinion about the press, and stating it right to Adama. The one person that Roslin loved, she viewed him as family. He was just a civilian that was trying to do what was right - and now he's dead. Yeah, I'm not bitter about it at all. Nope. bastards

While Roslin understands that they couldn't give the terrorists what they wanted, they sacrificed a good person for a cylon. I don't think Adama should've given in, that would have opened the door for others to do rash things and make demands, however I think it could have been dealt with a little better. I wish it was Ellen that had been killed, I don't like her as she has no redeeming qualities about her at all, and it's her fault that Starbuck got caught.

The ending scene with Dee by Apollo's bedside. He wakes momentarily but slips unconscious again. Dee tells him that "he has to stay, really stay" - but Starbuck was watching from the doorway. She says nothing just turns and walks away. Now, when the idea of Dee and Apollo first came up, back when Apollo jumped back from a viper as Dee rolled herself out, then again later when they were training - you could see the tension between them. But I loved Dee with Billy as I thought they were a good match. I think Dee is too, good for Apollo, Apollo needs something that will not let him get away with any shit, and be able to take his mood swings. Dee just doesn't seem like that sort of person. It will be interesting to see where this goes even though I'm not a hundred percent behind it.

I also want a scene between Apollo and Starbuck, I want it to be awkward and honest. I think they need to talk about the shooting, and maybe a few other things. I'm sure I won't get it, but that's what I want. I do think this episode was a good, I liked how the people in charge did not back down to the terrorists, I liked how everyday people can find the hero inside themselves, and I like seeing characters had regrets (because Dee has a few.)

Dialog:
Adama: [to Sesha] Not going to sacrifice a military asset on your alter of revenge.

Roslin: It's about the long term survival and how we conduct ourselves.

Bones: Superhero in the Alley A skeleton is found in the alley, it's of a young man and he is dressed as a superhero. His hobby were comics and he hung out with a group of like minded people who only went by their aliases rather than their real names. It turned out that the Warren was very sick and he did not tell his parents. He wanted to do something good in the world and because he was sick and had nothing to lose he confronted the "demon" from his comic book to save the "opalescence." To save the abused wife from her horrible husband, but things backfired and he was killed instead.

It wasn't hard to figure out what happened, it was a text book whodunit, at least in my opinion. What I liked most about this was Brennen and Booth. The opening scene where she actually smiles at him and accuses him of using his "charm" smile, was just fantastic. Each week she allows herself to open up a little more to Booth and in turn the others on the team. I think Angela is already in and now Brennen is learning to let others in as well.

There were some funny conversations. They were talking about fantasy and reality and the difference, and the way that Brennen herself allowed her opinions of her team get written into the book. Angela describes herself as finding the FBI agent sexy - and she doesn't deny it.

At the bowling alley, Booth is in his element and rattles off statics of his career while Brennen doesn't think bowling is a sport, it's an activity because there is no physical benefit. Booth just politely ignores her.

While talking about being heroes, Booth states that Brennen is heroic in what she does everyday. Brennen admits that Booth's super power is making people feel better. I really do love it when they are in the car, they tend to share things while in moving vehicles.

Did anyone else notice that while Booth was decked out in a nice suit and shirt, he was wearing converse sneakers? I just found that odd, but endearing.

The final scene of the burial, how touching. Booth left his Sharp Shooter medal on the casket and Angela had finished the comic book that Warren had started, complete with the superhero triumphing over the demon. It was all very sweet, I loved it.

Dialog:
Brennen: [to Booth] Don't use your charm smile on me.

Booth: When I ask for your names I want the ones your parents gave you.

Brennen: What you're saying is that reality falls far short of fiction.
Booth: [sarcastic] Thanks Bones.

Smallville: Tomb It was a horror episode. Chloe is taking a shower when lightning hits the Talon and the lights go out. She gets out of the shower and sees a girl with black rimmed eyes and bloody wrists. She screams. Lois comes running and finds Chloe huddled on the floor with her wrists cut. They admit her to the hospital, both the orderly and doctor seem creepy, and after witnessing her freak out Lana goes to Lex for help. He says he will get her transfered to Bellreve where she will get the best doctors. Clark finds out about it and kidnaps Chloe and takes her back to the Talon. Chloe sees the girl again and watches her disappear into the wall, Clark uses his x-ray vision to see bones, he breaks through the wall, then Chloe touches the green stone and the spirit of the girl goes into Chloe.

It's a not a big surprise that the orderly was involved, I had thought that it would be the doctor, but I think I was projecting his past characters onto this one. The best parts of the episode dealt with everyone else but the murdered girl (unfortunately).

Lana is already going to Lex for help. Later in the episode Lana goes to Clark and mentions that they should come together as a couple instead of seeking outside help. Of course Lana went to Lex first that's why Clark kidnapped Chloe.

Lex goes to the hospital to oversee the transfer of Chloe and talks to Clark. He was sincere but I can't help but think maybe not entirely. Lex even put a hand on Clark's shoulder and it seemed that it took everything in Clark's power not to look toward the hand directly. Clark didn't believe a word that Lex said. Later, after Lex is stunned by "Chloe", Clark witnesses Lana next to an injured Lex and his reaction is to stand a little straighter but didn't bait Lex into a pissing match (which is nice.)

One of the things I hated was that after Lois got the creepy orderly to leave the apartment she doesn't lock the door!! I can understand that maybe there wouldn't be a deadbolt, but there would be a lock on the doorknob itself! I was so annoyed by that. Anyone would lock the door! But she redeemed herself later when she threw the knife at Michael (the orderly) and hit him in the chest, although I suppose it was the shoulder as he didn't instantly die.

And Martha is going to take the Senate seat, good for her. Wonder where that storyline is heading. And there is nothing funnier than an evil man trying to court a good woman. Lionel is hysterical showing up at the farm, checking on Martha, making sure she's doing ok, gently reminding her that he too lost his wife so he knows what it feels like. He's smooth. *g*

Dialog:
Lios: [to Clark] Can you not do anything ridiculous for five minutes?
Clark: [makes his eyes squinty] It's hard to describe but it was funny

I watched The OC from last week. And it cut off in the middle, I have no idea why as I taped it for an hour, but I don't have it. If anyone watches it and feels like telling me how it ended that would be great. Thanks.

And I'm trying to download something, it takes like 40 minutes and what happens? I'm typing and one of the keys acts like a "cancel" button... *grrr* So I have to start over. Not. Happy.

It snowed here. We got 14 or so inches of snow, with the wind it was higher in some place than others. The good news is that because the temperature is "warm" the streets and sidewalks are melting at a high rate. The bad news is that Mr. KA spent several hours outside shoveling. I helped first thing this morning when it was still snowing, we did the front walkway and sidewalk. Then he went out again later himself and did the back and then did the front again. I didn't help because my arm started to tingle and my back hurt. I feel bad I didn't help more. Inside I cleaned the bathroom, did a load a laundry, dusted and vacuumed the upstairs. Kept busy.

Only Veronica Mars is left from last week, and since we are so spoiled with the TiVo we are watching to record it tonight and watch it sometime after. We've watched a few hideous movies: Deuce Bigelow: European Gigalow, god it was bad. The first one was ok, I could get through it and it did have some funny moments, but this was just bad, and unfortunately it made it laugh with it's ridiculousness in several places. Currently there is Venus Rising in the DVD player, which is a very slow scifi movie and it's just bad.

oc, movies, snow, bones, bsg
