Hallo Chippies!
Haha I think the Harvard facebook mentality of adding "...bitches" on to the end of every subject heading has invaded my brain.
But anyway, yes, it is true, I am employed. And now I will get to wear red shirts and khaki pants and enter into the ranks of the average american. The average american really is sad...after going to all these job interviews and whatnot, it really has made me appreciate the fact that I'm lucky enough to get a college education and (eventually) a job that calls for actual mental exercise. So I have the superfun Target orientation next Tuesday, and then I can start work once I turn 18 (we'll see how that one goes over...I think they forgot that I'm not 18 yet and that they aren't allowed to hire people under 18, lol). Yay for Target employee discounts...that's the best part.
So, in other news. I haven't really been up to much lately. In my extreme boredom I've decided to undertake two projects: getting in shape, and teaching myself spanish. Both are pretty much failing at this point, but hey, at least I'm trying. Plus it allows me to amuse myself while everyone else is off being 18 and employed. I've also been reading quite a bit. Since I have a horribly short attention span I'm currently reading 4 books at once: America The Book (courtesy of Jon Stewart, it's quite funny really), Tonto's Revenge (a really interesting book about Indian law and policy), A Year At The Races (c'mon, you know me, one of them HAS to be a horse-y book, lol), and The Secret Life Of Bees. The last one is the only novel, and I'm actually really enjoying it. Below are two quotes that I particularly enjoyed:
"That's what I told myself five-hundred times: impossibility. I can tell you this much: the word is a great big log thrown on the fires of love."
and
"'Did you know there are thirty-two names for love in one of the Eskimo languages?' August said. 'And we just have this one. We are so limited, you have to use the same word for loving Rosaleen as you do for loving Coke with peanuts. Isn't that a shame we don't have more ways to say it?"
I like books too much. It's the fault of APD, I swear!! Haha. Anyway, I hope I'll se you guys soon.
takusan aikoto!!
