• I had extended family here all of last week and two weekends. That + work madness that just keeps going = one tired redhead. Frankly, I might have rather taken the whole Rapture trip if offered, because that would have meant someone else would have to look at proofs and shuttle my relatives around Disney. But anyway. I'm not the greatest fan of Sarah Vowell herself or even of all her writing, but mostly I like her style quite a bit, and I will let her words explain my view of a kind of revelation:
From Take the Cannoli: Stories from the New World:
Heaven, such as it is, is right here on earth. Behold: my revelation: I stand at the door in the morning, and lo, there is a newspaper, in sight like unto an emerald. And holy, holy, holy is the coffee, which was, and is, and is to come. And hark, I hear the voice of an angel round about the radio, saying, "Since my baby left me I found a new place to dwell." And lo, after this I beheld a great multitude, which no man could number, of shoes. And after these things I will hasten unto a taxicab and to a theatre, where a ticket will be given unto me, and lo, it will be a matinee, and a film that doeth great wonders. And when it is finished, the heavens will open, and out will cometh a rain fragrant as myrrh, and yea, I have an umbrella.

Billy's doing a thing in Brussels this evening. If there is justice in this world, said thing will involve wearing a suit.

I am … less excited than I perhaps should be about Benedict Cumberbuttons having a role in The Hobbit. I enjoy him very much, I really do, but this, coming so soon after the casting of Stephen Fry (and I'm …. really not excited about that, honestly; I'm a bit up-to-here with him), is making me feel strangely uncomfortable. I do not want the film to be a parade of swivelheading, looking around for the next cameo appearance by random someones. I don't know. Maybe I'm just tired. I'm sure everything will be fine. Perhaps Cumberbuttons will indeed be just the voice of Smaug or what have you. I just hope we don't hear a lot more of stunt casting happening from here on in.
• Just a few more days until I have Kate Bush's Director's Cut album in my hands. *taps foot* I've been craving it a little.
• Last but certainly not least, happy birthday, Ian McKellen, you glorious, glorious man.
He's just … really quite perfect there, mmm.
So lovely and weathered and and and. <3
That's right. Bow down.
Holy crap it's like Simon Schama and Jeremy Clarkson had a baby. o.O

WIZARD PIMP.
Lalala Wedneday. I'm really tired. *chinhands* And I've had so little time to breathe and think, much less write, but I've signed up for Something, and through that, along with Incline and monaboyd_month, I will get back in there. I miss it. I need it. Entonces, Laura, do it. *firm*
