Okay, so this has nothing to do with OAG or any challenge. It just came to me while I was trying to get some work done on the Iconography fic *sigh, so hard* and the epic FellowFic and the next part of OAG. AU, natch. It's not pretty, either, so, um, sorry. But when do I *ever* write pretty?
Dominic can hear them.
They’re standing over him, one on either side of his bed, and Dominic waits, chooses stillness over action for now.
“I don’t want to do this,” Elijah whispers.
“Doesn’t matter,” Billy hisses back, and Dominic slits one eye open in the darkness to see something sharp glide from Billy’s palm to Elijah’s. “You’ve been told, you’ve been trained. Now go on.”
“I can’t.”
Billy pushes, and the bed dips with the weight of Elijah’s knee. Elijah protests, and Dominic almost misses Billy’s next whisper.
“He doesn’t love you, lad. He never did.”
And Dominic finally moves.
Back to work. Iconography challenge, I will smote your ruin upon the mountainside. Yes.
