Well, since it seems all of the people I know are all on facebook, I finally broke down and went over there a few months back and signed up. Of course, about that time I started neglecting LJ, not that I'd ever been regular about posting anything anyway. However, that's all going to change (I hope). I've been thinking a lot recently about getting back into writing. Mostly I've been thinking about how much my job sucks and how unprepared I am to make any type of career changes. Most of the other jobs I've been contemplating would require me to go back to school for more education which would cost more money, take more time, etc. Well, it just so happens I used to be a professional writer a lifetime ago. I did work as a journalist and I was pretty good at it. I'm not thinking of going that route necessarily, or at least not newspapers. I am however thinking about getting back into doing some natural history writing as well as some fiction. I've been mulling ideas for some fiction writing and one supernatural fiction idea K tells me is "golden." So, I've been missing being able to expound on my thoughts, constrained as it were by the what is it? The 200 character limit for posting something on facebook? Of course you can post more over there by leaving a "note," but I suspect that most people on my friend's list over there are not interested in reading my lengthy missives. So, it'll be all of you four or five people on my friends list over here. At least I'll get more practice at writing regularly if I can stay focused.
