Kilrenko'd had a rough few weeks at the opera tonight. Her first rehearsal had nearly caused her to quit at one point... the second went much better. It was just the aftermath that had been a train wreck.

"And thank you for coming," she says warmly. "I appreciate it."

Splurging on drinks and ice cream also called for comfort. Chairs seemed too rigid.
"And you're welcome. Anything for a girls night."
There's more than that and her eyes said so.

"So, what made you want to buy up all the village supply of chocolate? Not that I mind. I love helping people out with their chocolate needs."

"The opera. A bad 'not a date' last week and last night's 'oh, we have to hear all about how last week went' debrief by the other women in the chorus." In other words, romantic-sexual frustration.

Ellen nods and takes a large spoonful of ice cream to suck on.
"How bad was this bad not-date?"

"He called the night a waste of time," she says softly.

"Well, that sounds like him. I can almost hear it."
Ellen shakes her eyes and reaches for another spoonful, then goes about pouring some ambrosia into two glasses.

"It leaves me with two thoughts. Either he's gay and so repressed he can't even admit it to himself, or he's asexual and not interested in anyone.
"Oh, yes, please," she says to the alcohol.

"He could totally be gay."
She nods.
"Or he's one of those straight-laced types who just doesn't know how to let loose and have fun. Trust me. I knew a bunch. They're so far up their own behind they can't see what's right in front of them."
Ellen takes a long drink from her own glass, then smiles with some wick humor behind them.
"The good news is, if you can get through to him, you might be able to make your own diamonds."

She takes a deep sip of the Ambrosia and her eyebrows go up in appreciation. She holds the glass up to the light. "Oh, my. I could get quite addicted to this..."

She sighs, then looks to Kilrenko.
"So does that mean you're not going to pursue him again?"

"I don't know," she admits. "At least for now. Maybe once the opera is over." Or after another lover or two.
