Pimping Mindbloom. If you're like me and want to become more productive, but get way too easily distracted by games with tiny little things to earn, here is a "game" of sorts that lets you earn tiny little things by fulfilling items on your to-do list. You start off with a certain amount of "seeds", get more by doing the tasks you set, and you also need seeds to set new to-do items in the first place (meaning you can't set a dozen new things and overload yourself on the first day; it encourages you to pace yourself). Each branch and leaf represents an aspect of life and costs a significant number of seeds to create, so the game also encourages you to focus on what you most need / want to improve first. And you get to see your tree grow and turn healthy and move to different locales and all~ I'm still in week 1, but it has helped me keep more on-track with some things (writing, health habits); the site will bring up handy suggestions when you go to create new items. It's not for deadline sort of things, but working on improving your life through habits.

I feel like I've finally kicked out of my funk. Not with RP (still easily bored by some threads, oops, and loving my GB hiatus as a much-needed break), but with life. My volunteering at the library started this week and I got to learn some new things. TURNS OUT THERE ACTUALLY ARE MAGAZINES YOU CAN CHECK OUT. See, the set-up is that the current magazine is on display, and the ones you can actually check out are...hidden beneath the shelf, which you have to actually lift up to find. So I both felt productive and finally realized I could take some issues of WIRED home. Next week I'll check out some Writer's Digest.

...I'm a little anxious about the Shopko job. They still haven't called me back even though I called back once, so I think it's a no-go...I'll call today to make sure, though. They had promised a call-back. Keep looking for more things, I guess. I toyed around with the idea of starting a blog, but I don't know what I'd write about.
