fanart: before&after (Supernatural, Marvel)

Sep 23, 2009 23:17

have been sketching. That's not new. What's new is I managed to actually scan it in.

I figured, since I drew these in two such distinct steps, that I would upload the lineart before the finished product, if only for posterity.

before
Supernatural, Supernatural, and Marvel respectively (standard disclaimer applies.)

8D OMG YOU THINK SO? because I mean you're a fucking terrific artist, one of the best I know, and. not to be self-deprecating but I don't come close. so yay I'm very glad you like my artwork.

I... have a bigger version of Pete, on my other computer, if you're interested. I don't know what you would do with it, but there it is. and I don't know who wouldn't want Castiel in the rain but obviously no one who subscribes to my newsletter. since a pretty good summary of all of my writing is "[insert appropriate character here] stands around in the rain and then there's dialogue".

Dean had a reference, so there's no excuse for him not to look like himself. (IT IS. And it shouldn't be, but there it is. It's even recognisable on a unicorn.)

In conclusion, OMG THANK YOU. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO DO SO.

I'll take your word for it. :D

Hang on, I've got to upload it and it's still on the desktop (this being the laptop I'm on). Feel free to wallpaper it up. Consider this extended permission for any of my art. (Pete and Crowley and Aziraphale. Interesting mix. Now I sort of want fic.)

I've gambled my writing success on just that notion.

Thank you! Well, Dean had a reference, and I spent a bit of time drawing Cas with a reference before drawing that sketch, so I should hope they managed to look like their real-life counterparts. ;)

NNNNNNNNAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IAMBIC.

YOUR DRAWING TALENTS NEVER CEASE TO MAKE ME FLAIL LIKE A MAD PERSON.

SERIOUSLY THE LINEARTS TOO. AND CAS IN THE RAIN ASD;ALFJDL;ALJFLD;ALJFDL, look at that little crease between his brows, oh bless ♥

and i have no idea who this pete person is but he looks seriously cool. sort of reminds me of constantine. and dean and his UPTURNED COLLAR HOSHIT.

ESSI 8D

WELL NEITHER DO YOUR COMMENTS, SO WE'RE EVEN.

Thank you! Cas was really fun. god I love his expressions, you know this, but his default state of vague concern is just favourite. And Cas in the rain is always, always necessary.

PETE WISDOM IS SUPERCOOL. I think his secondary mutant power is being the coolest cat around, trufax. He does, a bit, which actually is making me sort of worried that I have a type. He's a Marvel character, turns up in Excalibur, X-Force, and Captain Britain & MI-13. He has superpowers but refuses to wear anything skintight. He's in my default icon.

oh, Dean's upturned collar. Gotta love it.

L-LOL EXCALIBUR. INSTANTLY BRINGS ARTHUR TO MIND. AND MERLIN. LOL WHUT.

and, well, you know what they say: dean winchester does not pop his collar, his shirts just get erections when they touch his body.

...XD I would love crossover of the series. It would mostly consist of Uther going AAAAAH SORCERERS and Excalibur being all NO MUTANTS and EVERYONE HATES US NO MATTER WHERE WE GO because everyone hates mutants.

XD OH GOD I CHOKED ON MY TEA LAUGHING

DO THEY REALLY SAY THAT

Even though I don't watch the show, I really enjoyed these. The second one I really get the feeling that I'm looking through a car window. I liked the gritty abstractness of the background for the third picture. I don't know that character but between the way you drew him and the background you chose, I feel like I get a sense of his personility.

Thank you! That was the intention, so I'm pleased. Pete demands a gritty background, I think; he's a gritty sort of character. If I could communicate his personality to you through this piece, I've done well. :D

thank you!

I think Pete's my favourite too, honestly. I'm pleased you agree. And I had a look at it and you're right, there is slight motion to it, which surprised me because I hadn't thought I was capable.
