A few thinky thoughts below the cuts! =)
The Vampire Diaries:
I really liked this one!! Just a couple of notes on things that stood out to me:
Matt - I was a bit surprised he showed up at Caroline's birthday shindig, but whatever, maybe they smoothed things out offscreen at one point, who knows
Klaus - Someone on my Flist made an observation that Klaus managed to break her heart a little in his monologue to Rebekah, despite stabbing her in the chest. This week I had that exact same reaction - except in the conversation between Klaus and Caroline. He was the one responsible for bringing her to the brink of death - so how on earth was I empathizing with him so much in that scene? Him tearing up as he was telling her about how he had wanted to end it all too, but that there was so much beauty - and then the bracelet he gave her - I thought it was gorgeously done. Like he was trying to convince himself as much as convince her.
Stelena - Wow, that was cold. We saw before how Damon had on the surface done something similar, taking Elena's choice away, in that if she chose to go through with Klaus's ritual and die, how she would become a vampire - saying "I can't lose you" as he forced her to drink his blood. But this week with Stefan - ouch!! Similar action for an entirely different reason, without any regard to her at all, and putting her in a situation where unlike the ritual, she would have no control over her death. Ouch ouch ouch. They make me ache a little.
Once Upon a Time:
So there was a marathon on 1/1 which I am only now getting around to watching because of the Stupid Anticoagulation Project For School that for whatever stupid reason I decided to do over break. UGH HATE SO MUCH (the project not the show)! Anyway, so I've finally watched the first 2 episodes since so many people on my Flist love this show!
It's a good show, and I like the concept! It's quite original!! And I really like the characterizations, like I was told I would XD
Pretty much the only thing I don't like is the music - it is a bit Hollywood-y/network-y to me (which I guess is only to be expected since it's on ABC). Idk why that bugs me ... it's really little things like the ~evil~ music as Regina is walking down the street. Maybe because I have a visceral reaction to Hollywood movies, lol idk.
Anyway, I'm only 2 episodes in, and I'm enjoying it!
