can i please say that i officially am forced to disregard every fucking thing that comes out of john mccain's mouth? that every shred of integrity, and yes, courage and yes, fucking sanity that i ever credited him with- even just 18 months ago- have been completely unfounded investments of my faith? every single piece of news i hear about him

Anyway! I suppose I'll just say that first of all, I really appreciate your political rantings... I have to admit, I really don't know THAT much about politics, though alot more than most I guess, but I feel like I have my own (well, mine and the rest o' your lj friends :p) personal teacher and one with a ridiculous amount of passion for her subject so that's pretty nifty :)
Secondly! My mom read this over my shoulder (I hope that's ok... I certainly wouldn't have let her if it had been about anything other than politics :S) and you had her in hysterics coupled with political outrage and that is a stage I have NEVER seen my mother in before... it was pretty fantastic :D She had a few things she wanted me to pass on, first off she thinks you're an awesome writer and particularily appreciated the imagery here: "soulless crony makes-voldemort-look-like-the-tooth fairy behind-the-scenes monster who had "other priorities" during vietnam", she also said she thought it would be really good for me to be around someone who has such strong views and isn't afraid to voice them or act on them and also that she is REALLY looking forward to meeting you and thanking you for taking such good care of me on my visits :D
