After reading her second novel, Janet Fitch is enthralling as usual. Two months ago I read White Oleander aloud to Ryan, thinking it'd either put him to sleep (chronic insomniac), or arouse curiosity in strong female protagonists. He enjoyed it so much that when we rented the movie version, he freaked out about every little detail not being as he had pictured. That was the first time I shared a book aloud, all the way through, with a companion. It was an incredibly fulfilling experience.
To condense recent occurrences, Ryan was accepted to MTSU, two hours away. He'll be leaving in about a month. My pal Katherine will be shackin' up with me in his place which is really freaking exciting because socially I live under a rock (by choice, of course..?).
Paleo(!!) and Forest Magic are playing at mi casa June 3rd. Can't wrap my mind around how this came to be but sweet jeebus yes.
I'm traveling to upstate New York May 22 through the 29th for my cousin's wedding. Another hells yeah. Farm life! God, I'm such a tourist.
