"Yikes" of the Day:
I just took a proficiency exam as part of applying for an accounting internship. Guessing is discouraged and I was told to not worry about getting an excellent score. The test is meant to give them an idea of how much training I'll need if they take me in.
I was only able to answer half of the questions since I've only taken one introductory accounting class. Also, if I hadn't studied what I looked over yesterday and this morning, I would not have been able to answer anything but the math portion. I can't even remember the last time before today that I multiplied 3-digit numbers by hand or did long division.
And to add insult to injury. I was nervous. At any rate, I need to write a follow-up email right now.
