GET AWESOME! FEST 2K4
Get Awesome! fest has been born! On june 16, in santa fe new mexico, hundreds, if not thousands will gather together for a day long celebration of independent music, do-it-yourself ethics, awesome food, and of course, fun.

the website's finally up, i'm really excited about this. thanks to daniel sooo much. basically, i'll throw out some details that i know right now, but i'm pretty sure, most everything has a good chance of not staying the same.
location:warehouse 21, santa fe new mexico.
cost: five bucks
date and time: 1 p.m.-10:30 p.m. june 16, 2004
bands (in no real order):bright calm blue, toru okada, yuriko, shadows and the silence, dissonant, ricky fitts, snack truck, ultra dolphins, thinking in circles, lucid dream girl, some merengue (sp???) band, and definitely about 5 or 6 others, i just gotta make sure before i tell everyone they're playing.
skill share workshops:"bike repair", "screen printing", "how to have fun with mike rae", "being vegan" (or something of that nature, cooking vegan, etc.), "slam poetry", "djing", "knitting",
other cool stuff: kite flying, vegan bbq, roasted corn, sidewalk chalk drawing competition, maybe some four square if anybody's down, free literature table (zines!),
about: earlier this year, por serio productions was working on finding positive punk rock bands to book for the summer to help spread the ideas that punk rock isn't about the recent rise of pretentiousness, apathy, and plain old disrespect for eachother that has been becoming more and more the norm in the punk rock scene. well, they ended up with a few bands all wanting to play within the week of june 16th, so they decided to book everyone together on one day and make it a big ol' fest. as time went on more and more ideas began flowing in and it became a community project, with people throughout the community all taking part in the construction of GA!. all of the money raised will pay for the cost of materials, and to pay the bands, since its a heck of a long drive to come here from anywhere outside of albuquerque.
if you would like to help out in any way, ideas, you got a skill you wanna teach to others, physical labor, backrubs, you gotta band that wants to play, you wanna dump all your unused cash on me, anything, email killtoimpress@aol.com
