It is cold in here. I called around. The best special on oil is 200 gallons @ $2.79 a gallon. That's roughly $600 plus delivery and labor or whatever. So it looks like until we get 4 people full-time in this place, the house will remain cold. The outside temperature exceeds inside. I should open the doors again and get the outside air flowing in. Until then, space heaters in bedrooms, fires in fireplace @ night in living room. I'll take a space heater in the bathroom and let it run 30 mins before taking a shower, then unplug when I hop in the shower (to avoid steam/water damage and possible shorts).
Today I need to go to Wal Mart to purchase an adapter for Stacy's TV (can you believe that thing is a 90's TV but has no direct in/out hook-ups for such things as gaming systems, VCR, or DVD players? How in the world does that happen. So I told her I'd get one for her and she can pay me back. I also have to get a cable for my TV, because I routed Denny's TV in the living room through a splitter, but found that the outlet is most likely trapped under the storage space in my room, and to get it to reach my TV on the stand at the end of my bed I need 20' cable. Or I might just place the TV on top of the storage space at the end of the room where near the window because I never open that side anyway. The cable guy said it appeared my cable outlet was over there anyway. Then why the hell would there be 3 cable connections in this bedroom?? The cable guy didn't even know what all the different outlets and cords were for, and the landlord just set that the previous tenants wired the house for 'wi-fi' but that doesn't make any sense because wi-fi is something you set up that is supplemental to your existing broadband based service, right? Hmmm
I also really don't have much food in the house. Its not really a problem since I don't eat much anymore, but just in case I want to eat, you know, something... I should get a few more things. SO far so good the roommate hasn't touched any of the food that does exist. Or my caffeine free diet Pepsi (maybe he and his friends don't like diet? If not, then score!). The fridge is 80% diet Pepsi, 10% water, 10% condiments. Oh well there are also some carrots.
I am still sad I can't find the fitted sheet Ashley had given me. Its super soft because it is 400 thread Egyptian cotton, washed many times, used often, and so so comfy to sleep on. Sure its an ugly tan color, but the comfort far outweighs the color. I could use a new comforter too, because mine has stains on it and is overall not appealing to look at. I believe my mother purchased it for me through Finger-hut one Christmas. That is usually where most of my bedding has been purchased. I think I'll do my own bedding shopping soon. After all bills are soon paid with my hopefully upcoming paycheck on the 6th.
The disability people said I was approved for disability through the 23rd which means 100% of my regular pay at regular paydays, due to my tenure. I should be set. In case I"m not, I have next month's rent already saved.
I have been trying to keep lights off as much as possible, and using low-wattage on the space heater (which runs constantly when I am home and goes off when I leave). I sincerely hope the electric bill, therefore, will not be too difficult. But When it comes, Rachel & Nick will be here for 15 days of the month and therefore probably pitch in a little, and then me and Denny will split the rest. That reminds me that I need to go to the utilities office today as well, and provide my ID so they can turn the utilities into my name. Thus I will be recipient of the electric bill, go me.
I also hope that if the cable is used, someone could donate toward that cost as well, even though basic cable is only $13 a month ($16 with taxes and fees). Split 4 ways would be $4, I hope that wouldn't be too much to ask if others watch TV.
And so far I haven't really seen to much of Denny. He has the small bedroom so its likely he only goes in there for sleeping, but I don't believe he has been home the past few nights. I think he's a student at the UW (which is .25 mile from my house, ugh) so is probably partying, studying, or at school most of the time. Which is ok by me. I saw that he and his ex gf last night were on the couch studying. They had a fire going, but it didn't appear that it heated the house much at all. I was watching a movie and then couldn't sleep so around 1:40am-ish I went to the kitchen and saw that the fire was still going but he didn't appear to be home any longer. That's awesome. Burn the place down, kid.
OK time to get off of my ass.
