shedd aquarium

Nov 19, 2011 01:23

i can't really go over all that i've been doing in chicago in just one post.
i'll have update in separate entries.

since i've never been to shedd aquarium i thought today was the
day that i should visit the museum campus. the museum campus
has the observatory, field museum and shedd aquarium.

the weather was slightly cold, but the winds were brutal.
i did not put my beanie on because it was gonna fly off within
two seconds.

i got to the campus around 12:30, but had to wait in line to get into
shedd aquarium for an hour. i just got the general admission, because
i wanted to be home around 6pm. i wouldn't have the time to look around
the whole place. it was incredibly crowded and humid!

an hour ride to chicago

wearing my new military coat. it's all poofy and warm.

heading to museum campus

shedd aquarium

piranhas~!

this lungfish has been at the shedd since 1933

hello~!

i love this fish! the tail is so beautiful! every time it turns around the tail twirls
around it like a gown.

the king crab... i think?

the lonely seahorse

starfish

clownfish

sea anemones

this guy is half my size... he looks yummy

diver swimming in the tank and feeding

souvenirs i got from the shop for my sisters hannah and rose.
they couldn't go... so, i thought this would be nice.

i'm gonna have to go back for the whole experience.
i want to see the jellies, penguins, beluga whale, etc...

when i managed to get out the doors of the aquarium, i decided to just walk around
the museum campus a little bit.

saw this hot dog stand outside the shedd and decided to order one

i like mine with mustard and tomatoes

the best way to enjoy a hot dog in chicago is to eat it with the
view of the lake

the view of the city

this little guy is keeping me company... but i'm pretty sure he wants my food

leaving museum campus

sears tower in my view

agora sculptures by magdalena abakonowicz in grant park.
when i walk around these 9 ft sculptures i feel so tiny and insignificant.

rosenburg fountain by franz machtl.
on top of the fountain is the staute of hebe. she is
the goddess of youth and cupbearer to the gods.

walking through the park was very relaxing.
