Madamoiselle Spring is working her magical web on the world. The thermometer outside of the Fourth County bank on Main Street flashed 52 degrees on the screen outside the other day. The man at the local hardware store has been a lot more helpful - I think the sign of spring and the warm weather is helping his arthiritis. Jimmy Cantrall and his rowdy group of boys are back on their BMX bikes, tearing up mud and flowers and turf in the cememtary, doing tricks to impress any passerbys in the village. Miss Dunn is looking less depressed - she even smiled (ever so slightly) at me when I checked Practical Magic out at the library yesterday. The latest edition of Vogue practically yells of the coming of spring.
Yesterday, during a trip to Neiman Marcus in Detriot, I found an adorable pair of Dolce & Gabbana heels. The shoe box read $100.00. Enthralled, I went to the counter to buy them - only to discover they were $100 more. (The shoes had been put into the wrong box.) My disapointment was inevitable.I cheered up when Mum bought my a Lucky skirt as a compromise, and I wore the skirt yesterday with flip flops and a bright orange t-shirt. To top it all off, I've made up a "Moroccan outfit"! A long, plain linen skirt, with my Moroccan sandals and a baggy, bright Ralph Lauren shirt, which I wore with a lacy camisole from Target. I felt like a runaway princess. Oh, dear me, I am a frivilous thing.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying Spring!
(PS: I just got back from Barnes and Noble with Portrait in Sepia - any good?)
