Cooleo

Haha. I couldn't think of a title, so I just put cooleo.

Tyler found a bunch of old Playstation games in the trash, so he took em out and he's playing with one right now. We have Tomb Raider III, too. It reminded me of when I went to Toni's house or Chloe's house and we'd play Tomb Raider, and I'll always remember this one thing I said.

There were a bunch of room in the game that you could go through, and it was like a temple, and there were animals engraved in the top of the doorways, and one had a chicken on it and I said in a really terrified voice:

"Are chickens going to come out and peck you?!"

Hahaha, yeah, I was a pretty stupid kid back then.

I like remembering stuff like that. It makes me smile.

Today wasn't too eventful. I went to first period and we talked about how corrupt Wal-mart was and how they treat their employees like absolute shit and are paranoid about having a union so they have cameras everywhere.

Second period is computer class, but Mr. Smith wasn't there so I couldn't stay after to work on my assignments that I have to make up. The power went out temporarily and this one guy started freaking out and he was yelling "I was fucking working on my fucking assignment, this is fucking stupid!" and the substitute got concerned and said "Just calm down now, it's alright."

Third period in walking class we just stayed at the school because it was too fucking windy to go anywhere. So I just went to Mr. Lamar's class and made a little picture with neon green construction paper and a bottle of ink.

At lunch I was at the table I usually sit at, but then I got bored and sat with my friend Unness at the table she chills at and I argued with a guy named Josh who has a very strong belief in Christianity about homosexuals. He was passing out these little cards that said like "23 minutes in Hell" and I guess it was going to be a meeting at a church and they would talk about Hell, and I said:

"They don't talk about gays burning in Hell, do they?"

"No, of course not!"

"Okay, that's good, I don't like that."

"Why don't you like that?"

"Because I think everyone is created equal, and that if there is a God he loves everyone just the way they are."

"But God is like a father, and we're all his children, and if we disobey him he becomes angry with us."

"But isn't God supposed to be perfect?"

"Yes, he is perfect."

"Well, if he was perfect then why did he create homosexuals?"

"He didn't create homosexuals, they chose to be homosexuals because humans have free will."

"But people tend to opress and despise homosexuals. Why would someone choose to be hated by everyone, and risk getting beaten and/or killed?"

"That's just what they chose to do. Everyone chooses to do things that people disagree with. People hate the way you dress, people hate the way I am, people just hate other people for different things."

"Those are good points. I don't agree with you, but you made good points and I respect your opinion."

I hope no one gets offended by anything I say about religion or any other topics I might bring up, because I am honestly not trying to anger or offend anyone. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I will respect your thoughts and opinions on any matter, but I am always willing to argue for what I believe in in a mature and polite way. I always try to be open to other peoples' ideas, and Josh brought up very good points that I respected him for.

Anyway, now on to fourth period, which so happens to be debate class. Today we debated about Stem Cell Research. Is it good or bad? Should we be sacrificing a life for a life?

Certain arguements were:

Most women get abortions anyway. Why not use the embryo for something that might help people with illnesses, such as cancer, leukemia, diabetes, etc. A majority of people in the class agreed with this statement, but the teacher's reply to this was that women get paid for donating an embryo for stem cell research (they get paid around $1,000.00), which might lead women to become pregnant and donate embryos for stem cell research in order to receive money.

Then later the teacher said: What if the embryo could grow up to be the next Martin Luther King Jr.?

... What if the embryo could grow up to be a child rapist? Or a serial killer? Or a drug addict?

You honestly can never determine anything like that.

In my mind, I believe that the person that is ill needs help NOW, and that is a solid fact. And another fact is that abortions will probably never be prevented, and even if abortion was outlawed they would still be performed illegally. If there are going to be discarded embryos, we can at least use them to try and help other people instead of just accepting it as another disposed life that's completely useless.

Many people protest against abortions, because it is "killing an unborn child."

But think about it. When you think about the women that are having the abortions, what pops up in your head?

I doubt you're thinking of a normal, 30-year-old woman with a good job and a wonderful husband and a gorgeous house in Newport Beach.

The woman that are having these abortions are most likely teenagers that cannot afford to support or take care of a child.

What I'm saying is, what if the teenager DID give birth to the child. Do you think she would keep it?

Let's say she kept it. She would struggle with school (if she even attended anymore), go to work constantly, have to buy supplies for the child, and raise the child in a positive way.

Not many teenagers are able to handle this responsibility.

Most teenagers that give birth to a child put it up for adoption. This usually never works out.

If a child goes to a foster home, the child will most likely be abused, mistreated, and used as a slave to the house.

So do you think the people that are against abortion would be willing to take care of the child once it's born?

I seriously doubt that.

I know all about this because my mom works as an attorney and argues for her clients to get her children back. Most of the children that are up for adoption get taken care of by drug addicts, violent couples, etc.

And even families that DO want to have kids can have their children taken away for the most mundane reasons.

Two kids were taken away from a family because their parents had smoked marijuana in the past and drank alcohol on occasion. The mother suffered from bi-polar disorder, but she was still able to take care of her children and drive them to school and pick them up. Social Services claimed that their house was "filthy and unkempt", but the only part of the house that was dirty was the room that the kids stayed in.

The kids are 9 and 14 years old. What else do you expect from kids that are reaching teenage years?

In conclusion, the children were basically taken away because they were a normal, typical family.

Man, I have never typed this much about what I really believe in.

Well, that was debate class. 5th period wasn't much.

I believe I'm spent.
