Alice had dried her hair off a bit with a towel, but she hadn't bothered putting her clothes on. There were few things she hated, but one of them was putting dry clothes on a wet body.

She knocked on John's door, shivering a little as she waited for him to answer.

John was jolted awake by the knock on the door. "Hang on a sec," he called, hoping he sounded awake. It pissed him off that he'd started to fall asleep in the middle of the day like an old man. Still. He shook the cobwebs out of his head and went to the door. Opening it, he saw Alice and damn if he didn't outright gape.

Alice grinned, teeth clacking together as the cold licked its way up her back. "Hey. Mind if I come in?" She tiptoed up to kiss him on the jaw. She moved past him without his answer, figuring if he said no, she'd just steal another towel and go back to her room.

He collected his brain cells soon enough, just turning away from the door as she walked in. He closed it and locked it, for some reason he couldn't explain. "Christ, woman, what are you doing walking around like that?" It didn't sound pissed, or at least he hoped it didn't; just ... wow. "You didn't run into anyone on your way up, did you?"

She turned around and laughed. "I just spent the last hour swimming with Sam and Dean. Nobody else saw me." She wandered into his bathroom, taking another towel and burrowing into its plush warmth. "That pool is amazing."

That bugged him a little. There were times when he really did wonder if she'd come to her senses and date Dean or Sam like she probably deserved. Both his boys were good boys. And closer to her age. And smarter.

Still, he shook it off. "I've been down there, but not swimming in it. It is pretty nice looking. Almost antiqued."

"You should come with me sometime." She wrapped damp arms around his waist, resting her head against his chest. "How've you been? Feels like I haven't seen you in ages."

John smiled, ignoring the damp in favor of the pretty girl. "I'm okay. Just doing my stuff. Working. Walking around. I met a few more people lately. You been spending time with Sammy and Dean, then?" Stop being jealous of your own fucking sons.

"A little bit, but not too much. Sam's sweet, and Dean... has his own set of problems already. It's funny watching them. It's like they're big kids." She looked up at him, and blinked when she saw a crease on his forehead. "What's wrong?"

"They are big kids. They're getting a chance to be." He didn't answer her later question, instead just resting his big hand on her back.

Alice tiptoed up to kiss him on the cheek. "I really wish you'd tell me what's wrong, but I won't press it." She smiled at him and let her head rest on his chest again. "You always smell so fucking fantastic. I'd swear it's some crazy cologne. Who'd you meet?"

John chuckled. Glad she'd dropped it. It was stupid anyway. "Um. Met a girl called Haley, down by the pool. I swear to God she's like Dean's weird female doppelganger. At least in the music, travel and flirting sense."

Alice laughed. "Oh, God. I wonder what'll happen if they meet? They'll either end up being rabbits or hating each other. You could've warned me about Dean, you know." She beeped John on the nose before she moved to the bed to spread out the towel before laying down.

"What, he try to flirt with you?" He'd kind of anticipated that, but figured it was Alice's business. "I figured you'd either say yes, or shoot him down yourself. No harm done."

"Of course he did. I told him how I feel about you and he dropped it." She shrugged and stretched out on the bed before making grabby hands for John. "C'mere."

"Getting my bed all wet." John grumbled a little, but he was pretty much joking around. He sat down next to her, only then becoming aware of what she'd said. "You told Dean ... the truth of all this?"

"I put a towel down, John." She moved a little so her head was in his lap, purring at how warm he was. "I did. I think he choked on some of his corned beef hash.... if that's what he was eating. But he's fine now. If not a little creeped out."
He absently stroked her damp hair. "Just checking. I figured Dean might freak out." It was like he'd figured before. Dean remembered his mother. That was all it was. "And I mean, I even told Haley I had a girlfriend when she flirted with me."

Alice sat up. "You... really?" She couldn't help the grin that threatened to split her face in two, any more than she could help crawling into John's lap and pressing her lips to his. I hope he meant it, and didn't just say it to get her away. Or I'm going to look horribly foolish.

He was surprised for a tenth of a second before realizing what he'd said. Oh, well. I meant it. He sighed, kissing her back contentedly.

Alice couldn't help grinning a little as she kissed John's neck. She wiggled off of him, willing herself to slow down. She was probably the first girl in history to have to goad her boyfriend into sex, but she'd wait as long as John wanted. It was like Cuddy said. She had her fantasies.

He was a little grateful that she got off his lap, but he kept kissing her. He'd kind of got a taste for it now, at least with her. She was so damn soft and if he didn't know better he'd worry about breaking her.

She was half clothed and kissing her boyfriend. It all hit her at once, and she dug her fingers into the back of his neck, purring a little. "John, I - " She shivered again, half from the cold and half from wanting to rip his shirt off. "You're going to kill me, you know."

"I know." John instantly felt shitty. She wasn't easy, by any stretch, but she wanted him, and he just couldn't, not yet. If they did it now he'd probably still call her Mary when it ended.

Alice stroked John's cheek. "I promise. As slow as you need. Want me to go put my clothes on? I'm probably dry enough." Every neuron in her body screamed against the course of action, but her brain and concience both approved.

"Don't have to." The more he saw just how amazing she was, the sooner he'd be comfortable.

Alice's cheeks went pink, and she nodded. "Okay." She ran a finger under the hem of his t-shirt, sighing a little. "John? What were you like before? You're so heavy now. Tell me what it was like not being that way." She kissed him on the knuckle, taking one of his big hands in both of her small ones.

John smiled just a little. "It's going to sound really sad. But I've never really been like you." He'd never been a really happy kid. He'd been more contemplative than sad, though, back then. "I was kind of like Sammy as a kid. Real bookish. Had to work a lot; we didn't have too much money. It was one of the reasons I joined the service."

She rest her head on John's shoulder. "I'm sorry. Maybe that's why you like me. I'm helping you catch up on your laughter?" She kissed his shoulder through his shirt, grinning. "You deserve it, more than anyone I know except maybe Sam and Dean. Even then, it's not a contest."

"They deserve it more." John nodded. At least he'd had a fairly normal childhood. His boys hadn't had any of that.

Still. He could joke a little about it now, anyway. "Sam and Dean must have freaked out when they saw you in that." He still didn't like it, but it did make him smirk to realize his sons had gotten a good look at how gorgeous this woman was. (His woman, really. )

"I didn't make a big deal out of it." She smiled a little, it all making sense to her. "You're worried I'm going to leave you for a younger model." Alice swung back into John's lap, and let her forehead rest against his. "John, you're an idiot."

"Am I?" He liked that. It was a soft gesture without being super sappy.

She nodded. "If I wanted them, I'd have them. Well. One of them. Yet who am I with right now? You." She kissed him lightly, smiling. "Don't you worry."

"Kind of a way of life, woman." But he nodded, knowing she was right. It didn't stop him worrying, but it did help. He kissed her neck like he'd done before, surprised at how easy it came to him.

"You don't have to worry about that - " Her sentence was cut off with a faint groan, her head falling back on her neck to expose more skin to John. She liked how his stubble felt, how warm his skin was.

Heh. He liked that, and kept going. He wasn't going to be an asshole and lead her on if he could help it, but he'd do as much as he was comfortable with for her.

She closed her eyes, sighing. Clearly, some talents never left a person, even after years of not using them. She clung to him, tiny noises escaping from her throat. Apparently he wasn't ready for sex, but was ready to drive her insane with want.

"I'm going to stop," John murmured against her neck, wanting it to be damn clear. "I'm sorry." But at least this way she couldn't tell him he'd led her on.

"I know." She smiled at him, and rolled off of him again. She felt flushed and hoped she wasn't as beet red as she suspected. "Think I need another swim."

"Need to cool down?" He asked it innocently, knowing he wasn't playing fair right now.

Alice nodded hard. "Still worried I'm going to leave you, when all you have to do to turn me to a horny idiot is kiss my neck?" She laughed a little and buried her head in his hip.

"It's a pretty neck." Yes, that was an actual compliment from John Winchester, stop the Goddamn presses. He went back to stroking her hair; he'd liked doing that ever since he could remember. He'd done it to Mary; he'd even done it to Dean and Sam when they were babies.

Alice blushed. "Thank you. But still. Please, don't doubt. I - it's more than attraction. I... care. Very much." She remembered what she'd told Cuddy, and smiled a little.

He genuinely smiled at her, though it was small. "I'll give it my best shot." He didn't want to freak her out or piss her off. She mattered a hell of a lot to him, too.

Alice laid back down on the bed, rolling onto her stomach. "Think I'm gonna wake up one day and be part of your bed. Too soft. Coooomfy." She purred and looked up at him through heavy lids.

He laughed a little, looking down at her. "Isn't your bed just as soft?"

"Nope." She giggled and buried her head in her pillow. "Hard as a rock." She laid on her side, back to John, nuzzling into his warmth.

"Bullshit." John chuckled, trying not to move so he wouldn't squash her on purpose. "Doubt they'd give the lady the hard bed. Isn't right."

Alice rolled her eyes. "Can't you see I'm trying to get you to let me sleep here tonight? Not sleep with. Just... you make me feel safe." She nuzzled backward a little more, turning her head and grinning. "Pleaaaaaase?"

"Just ask then." He had to grin a little. Usually she didn't beat around the bush.

Alice kissed his hand. "John? Can I sleep here tonight?" She wasn't above shamelessly flirting, and gently took the tip of his index finger between her lips.

He shook his head, amused, but of course he wasn't going to turn it down. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" He let her toy with his hand a little, trying not to react too much. If only for his own sanity.

She grinned up at him and shook her head before letting her tongue play on his skin. "Nuh-uh." She hoped he understood half of what he'd done to her before. Turnabout was fair play.

Okay, he liked that. John bit his lip, though; he couldn't very well tell her it wasn't fair. Her tongue was soft and warm. It kind of made his skin crawl, but he wasn't complaining.

She sucked it between her lips and let her tongue play around the knuckle before releasing it and standing up. "Want something from room service? You know how hungry swimming makes you."

He took a long, heavy breath. "Yeah, sure. Want to watch a movie or something?" Well. What the hell else could they do at this point. But still, it worked for him.

"Sure. Something Hitchcock, if it's on. Or with Cary Grant. Or John Wayne." She smirked. "You remind me of him, you know."

"John Wayne?" He couldn't help but snort. "Now you're just kissing my ass." Still, he smiled.

Alice nodded hard. "Of course you do. You're not much of a talker. Man of action. Sexy as all get out, smart, and wins out in the end." She wanted to remind him without having to remind him that he was lucky. He was alive again. No matter how much the hotel sucked, they had that.

It was getting to the point where he couldn't tell her to stop complimenting him without looking like a complete ass. So he just kind of smiled awkwardly and took it. "Maybe there's something of the Duke's on TV," was all he said, though he leaned closer to her.
