So I had a little meltdown two Saturdays ago (lots of crying on the phone to Jon and angry emails with my editor) and it turns out I'm taking a break from the Observer for a while. Just until I get out for the summer. It looks like I won't be graduating, because I'm very likely not going to pass this damned math class -- and that's the reason for the meltdown, really. I just cracked under the pressure, and needed something to disappear for a while...so I took reporting off my plate for now. I'll put it back when I'm good and finished (for the most part) with CMU. Consequently, The Fix is also on hold, which I didn't want to happen, but hey -- sacrifices must be made sometimes.
Um. I got free tickets to a battle of the bands tonight, to cover for my paper, but it's at 5:00 at the Hayloft. Fuck that place. I don't need any more lung cancer this weekend, though I did promise I'd go. We'll see.
"Blades of Glory" was amazing.
I miss a lot of things. This (life) isn't great.
Maybe Chicago next weekend will change something.
