Little Things

Sometimes it’s the little things that get you. And by that I mean mosquitoes. I got bit in the same arm three times while shooting this. The bites are no more than a couple of inches apart. You know I wouldn't mind so much if they just took a little blood. Hell, I would give it to them if they just asked, but no, they have to go and leave that poison in my arm. If they leave me anything it should be some sort of tip. I still can't fathom how we can send people to the moon, but we have no instant cure to mosquito bites. The way I see it, as far as technical fields go, medicine is pretty damn far behind, and it always has been. Take the civil war era for example. We invented submarines and had machines which could quickly kill people from hundreds of yards away, and yet the most effective medical procedure was to saw off limbs.

I wonder if I can't take a needle and bleed off whatever fluid it is that makes these things itch. Who knows, I might then be responsible for the next giant leap forward in modern medicine.

As for the photo, nothing too spectacular I know. I went out to shoot a sunset, but with the lack of rain/clouds we have had this summer the sunset just looks like a round orange ball in a rather blandly colored sky. I shot this so that I felt as though my couple hour adventure was somewhat fruitful. Plus, I figured I'd better at least have something to show for my war wounds.

I think I need to find some new locations to shoot.
