New Ending!

May 28, 2011 16:26

I might have just found out a way on how to end the screenplay I've written in college!!! I might have to edit some parts of it but the whole ending of getting into an accident and getting sick--50-50% chance of living is now scrapped.

And yes, even before the thesis defense, and even before as I was working on writing the ending my thesis, I've known that the ending is PRETTY WEAK.

"Deus Ex Machina", as one of the professors told me.

Even my mentor, Sir Doy advised me if I could somehow change the ending as it is pretty weak and unrealistic. It just contradicts the whole realism of the story.

I ADMIT IT. IT'S PRETTY LAME. I crammed and procrastinated. And revising it, I still had no idea how I would end the story... until now.

...As I'm watching "Love and Other Drugs".

My thesis, a feature-length screenplay called, "Ispesyal Kasi S'ya" (Because He's Special), is now binded and is in the Archives section of my Alma Mater's library--at least I was told by Ms. Diaz and the department's secretary, Miss Agnes. ('Di ba Niko? or was I wrong?)

The "tentative ending" will be; or rather, the resolution of the story will be:

*** Her realization that she doesn't need a cure for her brother in order for her to love him as a sister.
*** Her on-going struggle and dealing with her brother and his condition with new-found patience and understanding. (By that, it would only mean that there will still be fights, only fewer.)

And it will include:

**An additional character who will make her realize this and snap her out of her delusions (LOL)--probably an older character--a pseudo "ate" figure or her guidance counselor who can understand her situation due to her own experiences.

**An online forum--and hate mails....

**A blog...--AN ANGRY BLOG. (although yes, her character would start writing on a journal first.)

**And instead of her going to a retreat... Alisa's character would be a bolder one--she will run away from home.

**A sort of 'love interest' for Alisa. (I remember what Miss Rica said about how the character should have a love interest...LOL)

Any thoughts? Violent reactions?

PLEASE TELL ME!!! =]

Yet again, some of you haven't even read the whole screenplay or know how the story progresses.

This 'proposed' ending is a whole lot better than the first one eh? It sounds more realistic, per se.

I just don't know how or why I hadn't thought of this before!!! BEFORE FINISHING THE FINAL DRAFT FOR MY THESIS! AND DEFENDING!!!

Sometimes, I just want to whack my head over and over again for not thinking this through.

*shakes head*
