I'm going to Wicked Faire again this year! I'm so fucking excited! I thought I wouldn't be able to afford it, but I scraped enough money together for a plane ticket and the WF ticket. I have a hotel room reserved, too, though I may have to get a credit card to pay for it. Huff is coming with me and we're sharing a room, so that will help with the cost, but I'm not getting enough hours at work right now. Hopefully that will improve over the next 26 days.

Also, Huff, Anne, our new friend Katie, and I went to the showing of Repo! The Genetic Opera on Wednesday at the Mayan theatre in Denver. I had only a vague concept what it was when I saw it, and I fell in love. In brief, it's a sci-fi, horror, dystopian rock opera. Most of my friends would absolutely love it.

The director, Darren Lynn Bousman, the writer, Terrence Zdunich (who also plays the Graverobber in the movie, a role of the same archetype as Horatio in Hamlet, interestingly enough), and Bill Moseley (who plays another character as well as Otis in House of 1000 Corpses) were there and did a Q&A after the show and then a signing. I'm broke, but Katie was very kind and bought me a mini poster to get signed. I also got a picture of me with Bill Moseley. Am I alone in thinking that Otis was hot?

There were also a lot of people there in costume and lots of people cheering and singing along. It's definitely a cult film already, which is awesome. If you're so inclined, you should read about the movie's history (it started as a stage play, and as a movie was originally only playing on two screens).

So, there's going to be a shadow casting of the movie at Wicked Faire on the 20th. Another attendee and I are planning to go as the Henchgirls (you can find pics on the site if you go to menu at the bottom, the film, the characters, page 2).

Anyway, I'm super excited. If you haven't seen it, you should. It just came out on DVD and Blu-ray. The music is great, the production design is beautiful, and the actors do a fantastic job. Even Paris Hilton. I swear.
