Sarah answered the wake-up call she had put in and then soundlessly started to get ready with Chuck getting up shortly after and doing the same. Without a sound, they easily worked around each other, grabbing the toothpaste or getting dressed or putting on their shoes in some sort of dance without music.

As he was tying the last lace on his Converse, Sarah finally said something. "You ready?"

He took a deep breath and looked up at her. "Yeah," he said, forcing himself to smile at her.

That little smile seemed to break the tension between them a bit, but not much.

"So..." Chuck said as they got on the elevator. "How much did you end up winning last night?"

"Um...I think $50."

"Not bad."

"No, it wasn’t too bad," Sarah said, stepping out and walking toward the diner they were meeting Ellie and Awesome at for breakfast.

And then the show began again where Chuck pretended it was normal.

"So Ellie and I were going to head to the pool later if you two want to join."

Ugh.

And just then, he was reminded of why they worked together so well as a team. "Actually, Chuck had mentioned going down to the MGM. Apparently, they have lions in the lobby of the hotel."

"Alright, nerds," Awesome said in mocking reply. "You go have fun with that."

They paid the bill -- Chuck paid for Sarah's pancakes as well as his own eggs -- and headed their separate ways with plans to meet up later.

"So, I know we hadn’t talked about the lions thing. It was just all I could think of."

"It's OK," Chuck said, and he really did feel like he meant it.

"Do you want to do something else?" Sarah asked, hesitation in her voice.

He looked down at her, realizing she was trying hard to lighten the mood. "You know, I think I'm just going to go for a walk."

She looked at him aprehensively and then simply nodded in understanding. "OK, well, I’ll be upstairs then."

"OK."

"And don't hesitate to call...you know, if you need to."

"I won't."

He watched her walk to the elevator banks before setting off to take a few laps around the casino and then head out to the Strip. He wasn’t going to be too long, but he just felt like he needed to keep moving somewhere -- where exactly he wasn’t sure.

Then he saw the waitress from last night again -- and she wasn’t alone. Two brunettes, tall, skinny, wearing pirate-looking waitress uniforms as they made their way around the drowzy poker table, delivering coffee to early-morning gamblers.

He stood there for a few seconds, his mind racing, images flashing before his eyes as the Intersect kicked in.

And then it was over. He looked around the casino, hoping no one had noticed his brief episode. He couldn't pretend it was just a fun weekend. He couldn't turn his brain off just because he was hanging out with his sister and his friends in Vegas.

He needed to talk to Sarah.

"Chuck!" Sarah said, a bit startled as he barged into the hotel room. Then she looked at his pale face and shocked expression. "Chuck? Chuck, are you OK?"

"I flashed last night. I tried to ignore it. I wanted to have a non-flash weekend, you know?"

Sarah gave him a look of sympathy as he took in a deep breath and began rattling off what he knew. "Two waitresses downstairs aren’t waitresses. They’re here to rob the casino. Already did it in Monaco and Macau. They were working on a heist in Atlantic City before disappearing off the CIA's radar. They’re here."

"OK," Sarah said as he pulled her phone out to call Casey. "What did they look like?"

"Short skirts, pirate outfits."

She gave him a quick glance, a smirk on her face, before turning on the speaker on her cell phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Casey. It's Sarah."

"And Chuck."

They heard a slight groan from the other end of the phone. "I thought you were on 'vacation' in Vegas."

"Chuck had a flash."

"Did he make sure to at least tip the stripper afterward?"

Chuck was not missing Casey right now. "It was a bad guy flash," he replied through gritted teeth.

"What kind of bad guy flash?"

"There are some nasty chicks here in Vegas," Chuck replied.

"Sounds like my kind of ladies."

"But they're casino robbers wearing pirate outfits with short skirts."

"Oh yeah," Casey said on the other end of the line. "Definitely my kind of ladies."

Chuck just rolled his eyes as Sarah and Casey began to work out a plan.
