Platar facsciitis I should be able to describe in *excruciating* detail, as that's what I ended up with after working at SBUX this summer. I don't know the actual terminology, but it involves a muscle in the foot going out of whack. I'm actually blanking on whether it's the [Plantar] muscle on the bottom of the foot, or around the Achilles tendon (I had problems with both). It's an "itis", so I guess it's an inflammation. Mine was caused likely because of excessive pronation (I have bad ankles and bad posture) combined with overuse (on my feet 8 hours a day!). Every morning when I woke up my feet were basically just curled up and I had to work them out carefully.
Consumption is ye olde name for tuberculosis. I believe because in its final stages it advances so rapidly that the person appears to be "consumed" as they waste away.
That's all I got. "Quinsy" sounds awesome thought, whatever it is. Almost as good as "rickets". They just don't name them like they used to.
