Sam awoke to a dark room and a throbbing head ache. Well, at least he wasn’t dead, he tried to reason. He looked around and tried to focus. His vampire eyes seemed to give him slight nocturnal vision. It was ‘their’ cabin. Sam wondered why Dean would have brought him back here.

“Dean?” he called out. No answer. Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet.

“Dean?” the younger Winchester tried again.

“Sorry, he’s still out on his full moon romp.” A voice tinged with sarcastic laughter informed him.

Sam spun around to face the vampire who had turned him, “You! You turned me into this monster!”

“If anyone’s to blame, it’s you and especially your arrogant boyfriend.”

“Brother” Sam corrected the vampire.

“Brother? Oh ew, and you think I’m twisted.” She crinkled her nose, “I’ve checked in on you two before…you’re usually busy.”

“How’d you track us?” Sam blushed profusely, knowing they’d been caught out.

“I made you Sam. I’ll always know where you are.”

His face hardened, “Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t decapitate you.”

“I think you might need me and my mate’s help controlling your…brother.”  She explained.

“Speaking of which, where is he?” Sam scanned the room, he didn’t want to be caught out like last time.

“It’s a full moon, he’s probably doing the same thing as your Dean- feeding.” The vampire informed him, “Listen, you’re not going to be able to control him forever. Not without our help anyway. He’ll become a ruthless killer, just like any other were-wolf.”

“ Dean’s fine. Your boyfriend might have turned him into a werewolf, but he didn’t turn him evil.” Sam said adamantly.

“You honestly believe that?” she laughed.

“Yes,” Sam lied.

“Sam, don’t you think it’s strange that you’ve been growing weaker, but Dean seems as strong as ever?” she posed the question that had been running through Sam’s mind.

“You can’t turn me on my brother.” Sam glared, knowing the vampire’s game.

“And this cabin…pretty good condition, yet no people…”

“It’s probably just a holiday shack.” Sam repeated Dean’s words.

“You don’t think he’s out at this very moment tearing innocent people to shreds?” she stepped closer.

“No.” Sam took a step backwards.

“You don’t think he’d ever turn on you? You don’t think he’d ever hurt his weak little brother?” She cooed sarcastically.

“Of course not. Dean loves me. No matter what!”

“Really? Didn’t he throw you into a tree so hard you fell unconscious not two hours ago?” she queried.

“He tried to warn me to go.” Sam answered meekly.

“Because he was scared he was going to hurt you. And he did.”

“No, he brought me back here, he didn’t want to hurt me.”

She down right cackled at that, “You think big strong Dean brought you back here? Wrong. I did. Dean left you to die.”

“He…he did lean over me” Sam frowned in thought, “…oh god…did he try to…EAT me?”

“All I know if I found you unconscious in the woods and brought you back here. You’re welcome by the way.” She added, “Listen, I know he’s your brother and you want to believe in him, but this is the horrible truth. I’m not without sympathy though. I’m here to help, so long as you accept it.” She watched Sam’s face as he tried to take in what she was saying, “You know where to find me when you’re ready, Sam.”

Sam was in a mess of his own thoughts when the door slammed open against the adjacent wall and Dean’s large wolf form stomped into the cabin, eyes finally locking on Sam.

“Dean? I think we need to talk.” Sam said a little nervously.

Dean watched him closely, predatorily. The beast stepped closer and loomed over Sam’s smaller frame.

“Can you change back? I need to talk to the person Dean, not the wolf.”

The beast only growled in response.

“I need to know if you almost killed me tonight and who else you’ve killed. If you killed the people who owned the cabin?” Sam cut straight to the point, “I want to believe that you’re still good, Dean.” The creature made no effort to respond so Sam pressed on, “Do you even love me anymore?”

A hungry gleam shone in Dean’s eyes as he opened his mouth, revealing his long sharp jaws. Sam cradled his head with his arms as Dean’s teeth descended on him. Instead of feeling pain, he felt himself being lifted, Dean was carrying him by the collar of his shirt. He dropped Sam onto the bed and the younger Winchester wasn’t sure what to make of it. The black beast raised his claws and swiped it down Sam’s front, without scratching him, Sam’s shirt falling to shreds in their wake, “There’s only two ways this can go…and I’m not liking either one right now.” Sam said aloud, stunned at what was happening. A very large tongue licked up Sam’s chest and over his neck in one long swipe. “You can’t be serious.” Sam squirmed as the tongue lapped at his cheek, covering half his face on each pass. A strong paw shoved at his chest, pushing him down against the mattress. The snout nuzzled Sam’s neck.

“Ok, Dean. Stop messing around now.” Sam said as sternly as his trembling voice could. He pushed at the broad chest above him and when it didn’t move, Sam began to really panic, “Dean…please? Don’t.” he begged.

The wolf’s sharp yellow eyes softened as he bowed his head to look at Sam, who looked openly petrified. After what was in reality seconds, but seemed an eternity for the terrified Sam, the creature lifted it’s weight off Sam and shuffled out of his personal space.

Dean curled himself into a ‘U’ at the head of the bed and let out a soft beckoning mewl for his little brother to join him. Sam hesitated only for a moment before helaid down in the nest Dean had created with his warm body and let his head be pillowed by Dean’s soft fur. “I knew you wouldn’t hurt me.” He whispered as he drifted off petting Dean’s silky black pelt, body exhausted and relieved. Only when he was entirely sure Sam was asleep did Dean transform back to his human state and gently moved Sam so that he could spoon his baby brother, “Don’t worry, Sammy. We’ll figure this out. I’ll take care of you.” he whispered into the younger man’s hair. He smiled and stroked it thinking how beautiful a wolf Sam would have been.
