in the dixie land

The trip to South Carolina was great. Made some new friends and had some good times.

Thursday
LONG ARSE car ride through Georgia and into SC. We watched two seasons of newlyweds on the way there and the beginning of Father of the Bride. I had no control over the DVD selection. Stopped at McDonalds and got a most delicious Big Mac. Arrived at the cottage around 2:00--at exactly the same time as the other fam whom we will just call the other fam because their last name is ridiculous. Had a coors light for the first time and miller lite for the first time. I know I'm behind on the times. I taught Kathryn and Adam how to play flip cup. That night we ate dinner at the Red Sky Grill where I saw a guy who looked exactly like Tyler Florence. I got filet mignon with crab meat on top with hollandaise sauce. And I got key lime pie for dessert.

Friday
We headed to the beach. Kathryn got owned by a jellyfish all over her arms. She was in great pain. I drank and drove for the first time. But it was only a banana colada and a 3 mile drive. I did go off-roading though, but only because Kathryn and Adam wanted me to. That night dinner was at the Privateer and most delicious restaurant where Kathryn and I shared a platter of mussels and snow crab legs. No room for dessert. That night we played games and it was great fun.

Saturday
We headed into Charleston and toured the historic district and looked at all the cute little shops. Found the biggest candy store ever and got gelato. There was also a very nice shopping district with a J. Crew!!! I finally got to use my J. Crew gift card that had 50 bucks on it. So with the gift card, my skirt only cost 3 dollars! i also go a top from Bebe. I couldn't find any gold shoes that I liked =( Then that night we just ordered in pizza and I had a Mike's hard lemonade which was most refreshing. I think we played more games.

Sunday
More beach, more coladas and more fun. Dinner was at the Charleston Crab House. Instead of bread, they give you crab puppies and they were amazing! Kathryn and I shared a crab dip appetizer and coconut shrimp. That night Adam and I talked til like 3 in the morning about things. I realized that 16 is really young. I used to think that I was practically the same age as 16 but I guess I'm a little older now. That makes me sad. Adam is really excited for college and he's only a junior. I think it's because he's an only child and his parents can be kind of over-bearing. But he's a kool kid. He said that he could never picture me drunk...

Monday
Long car ride back with a break at chick-fil-a. Saw my Bry Bry that night and we saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Weirdest movie ever!!!!!!!! It was very dark and I felt like I should've been scared or something. Definitely odd but worth seeing just to appreciate how well Johnny Depp can play different personalities such as compared to Finding Neverland and Pirate of the Carribbean.

Tuesday
Bryan planned out our day and we went canoeing!!! It was so much fun. I can no longer use my arms and my bum is quite sore but it was so worth it! We hit so many things and got soaked in a hurricane-like rainstorm but it was great. We make a wonderful team. Then that night we saw Kenny, Mehul, Sarah and Ryley for dinner. We went to Anthony's for pizza in Thornton Park. Tried to find homeless people but turned up unsuccessful. But I got to see my friends and it was wonderful!!

Now I'm back at work. Never fun =( Three more weeks of work!
