i went to philadelphia. in some ways it was a breath of fresh air, well maybe not fresh but defiantly not the same stagnant air i have been breathing for the last year and a half. and of course now i just want to be there, to be in school and to burn the bridges i've crossed back and forth so often after so little time. and to try and apply what i've learned about structural integrity to new ones.
since i've gotten back all i've wanted to do is sit alone in my room listening to records. maybe i've been too caught up in things because i forgot how much i can be moved by the sounds coming through my speakers, how much i can be inspired by people i've never met. my advice to you...listen to records you forgot you had and remember what it felt like to hear (insert your first "this is the greatest thing i've ever heard" band here) for the first time.
why is it that every year around this time i want to make a zine? i usually do and end up throwing it in the box where i keep all the things i've never put out for other people to see. maybe this time i'll go through with it, but probably not.
i'm sick and i'm tired and i'm sore and i'm bitter and i'm sad and i'm happy and i'm hopeful all rolled into one. i miss the people who aren't around as much as i would like them to be but i just keep hoping that they understand, and know that in truth they are always with me.
no matter how fresh the air is there's one thing i find comfort in most days anyways...despite all the shit, i'm still breathing.
"i'm still here motherfucker!"
