There is so much strange new territory, in this dealing with a close dead loved one.

Like this for instance, For Valentines day my mom gave me a card with a gift card in it for the Sunflower Market. Then when my mother passed away and I was paying off her bills and credit cards, I found it was on her credit card, and so I effectively paid for it.

Then a week or so ago i went to the sunfower market and at the checkout line I tried to use it and it swiped badly, so they asked for the receipt for it. I paid for my grocery's and went home to see if I had a recipt, (i didn't, and never found it in her stuff, but i did have the Visa bill with the charge on it, So I called the merchant services for the Sunflower, and had to explain to them that i had a gift card, and I had the visa transaction number for it, (they were then able to refresh their data for the card and activate it.)

Skip forward to yesterday, I stopped in after work, and picked up some groceries, and i tried the gift card out at the end, and it swiped, the young lady at the counter asked whom the card was from, and i had to stifle the chuckle. and i said well it was from my mom, by way of myself.

=-=--=
I will probably never know how a scuffed up metal washer, made it into my moms hand her last day in the hospital. I can only guess one of her co-workers put it there possibly as a totem of their well wishing.

its either that, or my mom spontaneously generated a washer. i would have preferred a golden coin, but then again im not ready for that adventure.

strangeness, "tales of mom", death
