When you have music, who needs the real world anyway?

"I've rejected a lot of these things you're supposed to do when you're an adult. I have that opportunity because i make a living as a musician. I don't watch the news. I don't read the newspaper. I don't follow politics. I don't invest my money. For me, life is listening to music, watching movies, reading books and playing with my musical ( Read more... )

Ehhh not so sure a life style like Mr.Frusciante is a great one. Ok i respect his passion for music but one's life only in music is pretty naive to the rest of the world and what it has to offer.

this is true, and I've thought about it. Of course there are a lot of other great things out there besides music that have a lot to offer, it's just that to me, most of these things have to do with the arts and and being creative and being in tune with your soul. I think that things such as politics and the media and trying to stay up to date with what's cool or not, these things only bring us down. I really don't see what they have to offer that make me any better of a person, I can live without these things, in fact I would prefer to cuz I think they only cause more problems than we need and only serve to worry us and bring us down. Its the simple things that really matter. There are only two things I really need, and both of them I talked about in this entry, with the exception of faith as I also believe we need faith to keep us going.

im not sure how much (or how well) you know the life style or life of john frusciante. if you knew all the downs and ups youd understand where he is coming from. and to be frank, his lifestyle is extremely admirable. it is hard to find someone who takes nothing materialistic into account, and actually does what they love for a living. he lives a very peaceful and beautiful life, to say it is naive is pretty ignorant in your part. just because he doesnt like politics or has a bank account does not make him naive.

I never said his life wasn't admirable. I even credited his passion for his love for music. To say that i'm ignorant about what i said is complete irony. You have no idea who i am nor have met me i'm sure. Not to mention the judgment that you notioned that i said that because he doesn't like politics or has a bank account is even worse. I believe that Mr.Frusciante has great passion for his life in music. Yet I believe that his life style might be overlooked to say that because he is so enrolled in his music and live style makes him a great man. As for what he does with his life i respect and enjoy tremendiously because i own all his works last time i checked or might have to check again with such an advocate to Mr.Frusciantes life. What i was saying very clearly was that it is naive to the rest of the world. It's very plain and simple, there's more to life then Music and the life style he lives in and to limit himself in the way he picked his diction shows it.

soo what you're saying is that i'm naive in thinking John's lifestyle makes him a good man?

Or are you saying that we are limiting ourselves in thinking that music is all there is to life (which is not the case)?

I'm not exactly sure the point you are trying to make.

p.s. I never knew you were into John's stuff or owned any of his albums that's awesome!
