SPN Spring Fling
It's that time again! spnspringfling is a go.
This is one of my favorite challenges, because it has only a week turnaround, and it has a lower and upper word count limit. I'm considering signing up, because I would love to request some Sam-centric fic. (Sam/Eileen! Sam/Rowena! Sam and Jack!) Or some Wayward Daughters! Trying to figure out if my brain will break if I have to try and write Sam/Dean in a week, though. So far, there are a looooooot of requests for Sam/Dean and J2. Hrm.
Speaking of SPN, wow, this week's episode was really terrible, no? Or was that just me? HELLO, new-ish SPN writers, Sam was psychic! Sam had no soul! These things might be relevant to your script! Nah, I know, I'm asking too much.
I did like that they skipped forward a bit in time, though, because I would like to write/read some fic about the fallout from what happened in the last one. (Did I mention Sam/Rowena?)
To the good, though:
- Soulless!Jack was nicely creepy. Good job, Alex. (poor snake!)
- I really loved Castiel's hair in this one. I kept wanting to pet it!
- Sassy shoutout! Sam has beautiful hair. ♥
- Actually, Castiel was the absolute best thing in this whole episode for me, which, color me surprised. I loved his reactions to whammied!Sam, and to the creepy town, and pretty much everything.
- Dean out of his depth with Jack and looking sleep-deprived was so soft and snuggly. Also, his reaction to the mice? Priceless.
- Jensen managed to convey Dean's intense discomfort with soullessness even without much script support.
It's so nice seeing all the thinky-thoughts people are having about The Magicians. Wait. Does this mean I'm actually in an active fandom? What's that like, again?
