So. Yesterday. The day that comes after the day after yesterday, it had been raining on and off (mostly on) since about 4:30 or 5 in the morning and there was a certain fear of the river coming up again and being stuck for a few days, again. So Jeff and i jumped in the truck and took off for Concan, the nearest town, which is about 13 or so miles away. After we saw the first river crossing with water on it Jeff said: "We better haul ass." So he preceded to up the speedometer to about 70 mph. Now if the river comes up big it won't do it gradually. Maybe at first a little but when it comes down from up in the canyon it comes in a big wall of water. So we get to Concan and i say "So whats the list? What do we need to get?" His reply: "Milk and Cigarrettes." The essentials.
Well we got back to the house with the river only rising a few inches and it stopped raining about 1 or 2pm. All was fine. That was my adventure; driving fast in the rain, hearing stories about the river coming up and seeing what looked like some animal or someone turned inside out in the middle of the road. Unfortunately i didn't have a camera.
