[Killua is seated comfortably on the ground somewhere in the wastes, his backpack and PCD settled next to him. His attention is not on the now recording PCD, however, which has once again reacted to the electricity in the air. Instead, he is entirely focused on something in between his outstretched hands. That something is small and spherical,

That's so neat!
... Hey, Killua? Can you hear me? I wonder if he broke it....

It... needs work.
[Ow.]

Well, yeah, you just came up with it, right? [Either that or Killua's been holding out on him. ...Which he wouldn't do without hinting about it.] But it looks really powerful!

[Sigh and bother. He scratches at the back of his neck as he surveys the damage. It sucks that something like this was caught by the PCD before he perfected it, but at least that also means he still has a chance of keeping the perfected version secret once he gets the hang of it.]
Well, duh! If not, I would've used it before now. I can't really control it yet though. It's like once I create it, it moves on its own no matter how hard I try to keep it in check.

It's... kind of like emission nen, right? Because you're throwing them.
Maybe that's why it's hard to control?
[His frown grows a little deeper. Okay, there's Reinforcement, and then next to that are Transmutation, that's Killua, and Emission... so it's not all the way on the other side... what percentage mastery was it again if you were one away?
One minute. Thinking.]

Kinda crazy, huh? It would've been cooler if I'd meant to do it.
[He allows himself that sheepish grin in Gon's presence, something he's not about to show to the public if he can help it.]
Here.
[Reaching into the backpack, he pulls out a book. It's been bookmarked, and he opens it to that page before holding it out for Gon to read. Circled is an encyclopedia article on ball lightning.]
I did it once, on accident. And when I was trying to figure out what it was, I found this. I didn't do much with it right away, but now I think I've figured out how to keep it pretty uniform.

[He takes the book, frowning over the article for a few minutes.]
So... it's turning electricity into a ball...?
Maybe you just need more practice!

Biscuit had you do emission exercises for Jajanken, right? [He holds up one hand, aiming his pointer finger like a gun.] You think those would help with learning how to control it from afar?
Reply
That took me forever! [He grins, holding up a hand with the palm out.] Do you remember what the exercises were like?
Reply
I remember reinforcement. That was insane. But not emission. That was more your thing, wasn't it?

[Sitting down next to Killua in another brief cloud of ash as he disturbs the layer on the ground.] Maybe you can try practicing emission and see if that helps!
[Idea obtained, he bounces back to his feet in another dust cloud, dashing out to the nearest rock -- it's not too big, just a couple feet across -- and hoisting it up on top of the next nearest bigger rock twenty feet away.
It wobbles, and then decides to stay put. Gon turns around, cupping a hand around his mouth for extra volume.]
Hey, Killua! Try to knock this off from there!
Reply
[And then Gon gets an idea, and all bets are off.]
You've gotta be joking!
