I went to church today for the first time since Fr. Robie left and was replaced by Fr. Trahan. I like our new pastor. He looks at his audience... More believable, if you ask me. He speaks rather than preaches. He cracked a joke too:
"One day, a boy went to his grandfather and told him to do like a frog. His grandfather asked why. The boy then replied that if the grandfather would do like a frog, the boy would get to go to Disney World. The man looked at his grandson and asked how he came to that conclusion. The boy then said 'Because mom said that when you finally croak, we'll have enough money to go to Disney World!!"
Today made me realize that I am in no way, shape, or form, able to say my religion is better than anyone else's. I honestly don't think any religion is particularly better than another. When I turn 18, I will go to church where I see fit. One Sunday I may go to St. Mary's and another, I may go to a Baptist church. If I like the way it is run, I will like going there. I don't like it when people approach me and tell me they are a strong, devout Catholic. I could care less. Don't tell me what religion you are. That doesn't make a person. Tell me what you believe, not your label.
