Not too much to say, but I felt like being the centre of attention for a while anyway. Things are going well. I interviewed at the Phila zoo on Friday for a job giving live animal shows. If I get the job, I'll get to handle everything from ferrets to hawks to hissing cockroaches (not so excited about the 'roaches....), which anyone who knows me would say is right up my alley. They said that many of the people who start there eventually get trained to work with larger animals, which would be totally cool. I've always wanted to work with animals, so I guess this is my chance. We'll see what happens. I also had someone at Bryn Mawr call in a recommendation to one of the schools with which BMC has a strong relationship, so we'll see what happens there too. I think it was a pretty productive week.
Alex and I went rockclimbing yesterday. I'm decent, but Alex hasn't quite figured it out yet. He's not the most nimble of people, which--surprisingly--is necessary to be good at climbing. I think he had thought it would be all about brute strength but, like most things in his life, he discovered that muscling his way through things only works about once or twice. I think this is something he's just going to struggle with for a while. I remembered that I really like climbing, however, and I think he and I will probably go again later this week. It's sort of expensive, but it would be good for me to get an outdoorsy hobby.
Everything else is going well. I'm just working on improving my resume and digging up interesting things to do with my time. We'll see how that goes.
