If there was one thing Vanessa loved, it was watching the sunset wrapped in Zac’s arms. There was just something relaxing and romantic about the whole scenery. In fact, it was probably the most romantic thing she’s ever done with somebody, specially with Zac. Being cuddled up in your loved ones arms, watching the beautiful colors displayed on the sky. She was dressed in her white bikini, with one of Zac’s large shirt thrown over. Her arms wrapped comfortably around Zac, who was also dressed in a shirt and his dried swim trunks, while his arms enveloped her small body to his, bringing them onto a perfect fit. It was a reminiscent moment from their first vacation in Hawaii, when they were wrapped in the same position, watching the sunset. But something about this moment made it ten times better.
While watching the sun set, Vanessa had drifted off to a blissful slumber. Zac had suspected as much when he heard the even breathing of his girlfriend right beside him. He still couldn’t believe the luck he had been struck with. A month ago, he would have killed to even get an acknowledgement from Vanessa after their horrible split. But now, not only did she take him back, but he’s fortunate enough to share this moment with her. And he was happy that he was the only one he’s ever shared a moment like this with her. And he wanted to make sure he’ll be the only one.

“I wish we could stay here forever.” Vanessa let out a peaceful sigh as her body glowed with the sun shining down on her. After a delicious and serene breakfast at the seaside view restaurant, the pair then headed to their cabin, got dressed in their swimwear and headed to their private beach for a relaxing day in the sun.
“We could always move out here.” Zac said, a playful smile played on his lips.
“Yeah right.” she scoffed. Removing her sunglasses she squinted her eyes to look at Zac who is now sitting next to her on his own towel. “Like my mom would actually agree to that.” she then rolled so she was laying on her stomach, still facing Zac. “Why can’t we stay longer? It’s so nice out here. It’s far away from home that no one will ever suspect we’d be here.”
“Because we have work.” he answered simply, earning him a groan from her. “Trust me babe, if it was up to me, we would be here much longer.”
She flashed a smile at him. “You have that photoshoot when we get back right?”
“Photoshoot. Meeting, meeting. Interview. Meeting. Photoshoot.” he sighed, listing off his agenda once they get back to the states. “You?”
“Same.” she sighed as well, already exhausted at the thought. “Plus I have a meeting with my lawyer.”
“Lawyer? Who’s suing you this time?”
“Shut up!” she playfully slapped him as he chuckled. “We’re just finalizing some deals. It’s a never ending cycle.”
Zac smiled at her softly. It seems that she’s always magnet to legal troubles, but he knows this time that isn’t the case. With a sigh, he then turned his attention to the ocean in front of them. They had been at the beach for about an hour now. They took a little dip in the water for a few minutes before Vanessa went back to her blanket and started to tan. Zac stayed in the water a while longer then went to sit next to Vanessa and they relaxed.
“Hey Van,” he suddenly spoke. “Let’s go in the water.”
Vanessa propped herself up with her elbow and looked up at him. “But I’m so comfortable here.” she let out a puppy dog pout.
“Babe, you’ve been laying here for an hour, and you’ve only been in the water once.”
“I’ll go later. I want to work more my tan.”
“You’re already tanned.” he chuckled. “If you get anymore sun exposure you’ll get skin cancer.”
“But I wanna sleeeeep.” she let the word drag on as she stretched, laying back down on her back.
“I’ll carry you in if I have to.”
“You wouldn’t dare.”
He just smirked at her. “I’ve done it before, princess, I’m not afraid to do it again.” she just narrowed her eyes at him. Suddenly, in just one movement, Zac was on his feet, carrying her in his arms.
“Zac!” she squealed, struggling to get out of his grip. But him being too strong made her fail miserably. “Zac I swear! I didn’t get to put on my sun block.”
“I just put some on you a few minutes ago.” he said with an amused grin.
“Zachary! Put me down now.”
“As you wish.” he smirked. Realization struck her, hearing the water splash as he walked. Before she knew it, she was in the water. It wasn’t that deep, but there was still a splash. Upon her impact with the water, Zac burst out in laughter.
Finally regaining control, Vanessa glared up at him. Still in the water, she kicked his leg making him stumble slightly. She chuckled at his tumble as she tried to get up. She held on to him as she tried to get up, but he was still stumbling. Loosing his balance even more he fell just beside Vanessa and the water splashed around them.
Vanessa laughed at him as he sat up in the water. His glare at her was evident. “That’s what you get for dropping me in the water.”
“You told me too!” he said, splashing water at her.
“Hey!” she squealed, splashing him back. She started to stand up as she splashed him some more. He grinned and tried to grab a hold of her leg as she stood up, making her squeal some more.
She got up successfully and was at a distance from him, so he couldn’t get a hold of her. But still near enough to splash him some more. He chuckled and got up as well, chasing her deeper into the water. The water was now up to their mid section, which made it hard for them to out run each other. Zac had easily caught up to her, but she was still splashing him. He soon scooped her in his arm as the soft waves crashed to them.
Vanessa laughed and Zac had a huge grin as he held her in his arms watching her adorable face. It made his heart soar whenever he saw her nose scrunched up and hearing that angelic laugh of hers. The way the water created a sparkle as the sun beamed at her, creating a glow on her skin. He thanked god that he was lucky enough to have an amazing woman such as Vanessa.
Vanessa’s laughter died down, but the smile on her face was still present. She then looked up at Zac, seeing him and his wistful smile as he looked at her. “What?” she asked him. “Something on my face?”
“No.” he said in a soft voice. “You’re perfect.” Her smile turned shy, and a blush crept on her face. “Tonight I have a special dinner planned for us.”
“Oohh, special dinner. I like.”
“You should.”
“What should I wear? Is it in the restaurant?”
“No. Did you bring a dress?”
“Yeah.”
“That’ll do.”
“Ok, but where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise.” he said with a secretive smile.
“Oh come on.” she groaned.
“You know how much I like to surprise you.”
“Yeah, but shouldn’t I get a free pass for now since we’re leaving tomorrow.”
“Then it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it.”
“Zac.”
“Sorry.” he grinned at her pouting face. “I love you.”
“I know.” she smiled at him. “I love you too.” he leaned down capturing her lips in his in a soft kiss. They parted but their face were still centimeters apart. This was perfect.
“Let’s go for a swim.” and with that, their moment was broken with Vanessa swimming away.

Vanessa glanced at her reflection once again. She was in the luxurious bathroom of their cabin, wearing her dress for tonight’s special dinner, so Zac had called it. It wasn’t an extravagant dress, it was a flowy summer dress that fell just bellow her knees. She hadn’t really expected to wear it during the trip, but packed it just incase.
Needless to say she was excited. The two of them hadn’t been on a proper date since before he had left for New Orleans. And even then it was just take out and a movie, since Celia had closed down the restaurant due to a family reunion in Italy. So technically this was their first big date in a while. Zac had told her dinner would be ready at seven, it was now quarter to seven. She still has no clue as to what Zac has up his sleeve for this date of theirs, but it didn’t really matter to her anyway. She was just glad that she can finally have a normal date with Zac. Without having to worry about paparazzi’s.
Almost at the crack of seven, there was a knock at the door. “Zac can you get that?” she said as she fixed her hair once more. She was met with a knock on the door again. “Zac?” silence. With a sigh, Vanessa walked out of the bathroom and towards the door.
She opened the door, figuring it was the resort staff, probably for Zac’s special dinner. But she was surprised to see Zac on the other side, smiling that dashing smile of his. Bewildered, she glanced back in the cabin where she thought Zac had been, then back at her boyfriend in front of her. “But…how?”
He chuckled, letting himself in. “You know, this place could be burning and you still wouldn’t notice.”
“Hey!” she pouted. “I was preoccupied.”
“I know, I was still surprised you didn’t notice me when I slipped out. I mean I saw myself in the mirror, yet you didn’t.”
“Was I fixing my hair?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s probably why.” she smirked. “Were you making funny faces at the mirror while I was distracted?”
He averted his eyes. “No.”
“Zac!” she exclaimed with a chuckle, then she started to strap on her sandals, while she steadied herself by holding on to Zac. “How long were you gone?”
“Only a few minutes. You’re lucky, I gave you a few more minutes to fix your hair even though it’s already perfect.” he teased her by brushing his hand against her hair. She swatted it away.
“Ok, I’m ready, lets go.”
“After you.” he said, opening the door for her. Once they were outside he closed the door, the took her hand in his and led him towards the beach.
“So where are we going?”
“I thought we already established this was a surprise.”
“I know that, but we’re going the wrong way. Aren’t we?”
“Nope, we’re right on track.”
“But the main building is that way.” she pointed to the opposite direction.
“We’re not going to the main building.”
“But…” she looked at him confused. “Where are we going then? All the restaurants are over there.”
“We’re not going to a restaurant.”
“Then…where…”
“We’re here.” he said, abruptly stopping their walk.
Vanessa’s eyes grew wide at the sight in front of her. A tent set up with a table set for two inside, with a cart of what she assumed was their food standing next to it. Lights illuminating romantically that are set inside. The tent itself was set behind their cabin, and a few steps away from the private beach. It was just simply romantic.
“Oh my god.” she breathed.
“Do you like it?” Zac asked shyly, though greatly happy at her reaction.
She then turned to him, happy tears threatening to fall. “Are you kidding me?” she exclaimed happily. “It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” she then threw her arms around him, bringing him into a tight embrace. “This is amazing.” she said softly as they pulled back.
“I’m glad you think so.” he smiled, planting a small kiss on her lips. “I was worried you were gonna hear them built it but, like I said, the place could be burning down and you wouldn’t even notice.”
She just chuckled. “You really have outdone yourself.”
“Dear god I hope not. There are a lot more special dinners I have to do, and I need more good ideas to surprise you.”
“Oh really?” she said coyly, as he led them towards the tent. “How many more.”
“Well there’s Valentines Day, your birthday, anniversaries, holiday’s…”
“My god that is a lot.”
“Exactly. Not to mention I’m going to have to repeat that cycle…for the rest of our lives.” a soft smile crept on both of their faces. “So you better hope I have more brilliant ideas.”
“I’m pretty sure you can come up with something. And whatever they are, I will absolutely love.” she assured.
“Well I sure hope so.” He pulled out the seat for her, then went over to his side where the cart was near at and sat down himself. “So Miss. Hudgens, lets start our dinner shall we?”
+++++++
Dinner had been delicious. They didn’t know if it was the food, or the atmosphere, but it had just been wonderful. They spent the time to just chat and take in the scenery. After finishing off their dessert, Zac then showed to Vanessa his iPod set up to a portable speaker that was on the second shelf of the cart. He then placed it on the top and started to shuffle to a low soothing song.
“Can I have this dance?” he said smoothly, holding out a hand to Vanessa.
She grinned and took his hands on hers, standing up. Zac then led her to the side of the tent. He placed his hands on her waist as she placed hers around his neck. The two then continued to sway to the music, as they stared deeply into each other’s eyes. Both completely oblivious to the surroundings around them.
“This really is amazing Zac.” she whispered hoarsely. “I couldn’t have imagined for anything better.”
“I’m glad you think so.” he smiled. He noticed a single tear escape. He took his hand and brushed the tear away with his thumb. “What’s the matter.”
“I never want this to end.” she admitted. “It’s so difficult having to go back and hiding and not being able to see you whenever I want to. I just wish that everything was back to the way it used to be.”
“Van, you know that no matter what you decide, whether you want to tell people or not, I will be there with you, every step of the way.”
“I know. And thanks you for putting up with me, for being so patient.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll wait forever for you.” he smiled softly. He brushed more tears away and as he did, he noticed a slight glint around her neck. “What’s this?” he asked softly, tracing his fingers around the chain on her neck.
“Oh that.” Vanessa breathed deeply, trying to calm her tears down. She then placed her hand on her chest, feeling the bump from beneath the fabric. Hesitantly, she slowly pulled out the chain, showing Zac the ‘charm’ she had used for it.
Once seeing the ‘charm’ his eyes then went to hers. “You kept it?” he asked, his eyes showing disbelief.
“I found it when I went to my parents house before we left. I just couldn’t let it go again.” she explained tearfully.
The smile on his face was evident. He looked back at the kuuipo ring she used as her ‘charm’ then back at her. He then went to unclasp the necklace, Vanessa watching him in confusion. He took the ring off the chain, placing the chain in his pocket. Then he took the ring and grabbed a hold on her hand placing the ring back on her finger, where it had resided before.
Seeing the ring on her finger brought new tears to Vanessa’s eyes. She looked up and saw Zac looking back at her, his eyes shinning. Then he went to grab his wallet from his pocket. He opened it and she was surprise to see him pull out his kuuipo ring. He put the wallet back in his pocket, then took the ring and put it back on its rightful place on his hand.
“I never leave without it.” he whispered, answering her unasked question. Then, before she could let out a cry, his lips was on hers.
It wasn’t as soft as it was before. But this time it was so much more heated and passionate. Her hands had found its way to his hair, running them through her fingers. His was planted on the small of her back, pulling her closer to him, if that was even possible. It wasn’t a lustful kiss, it was just a kiss filled with love for one another.
“Zac.” she panted, in between their kiss.
“Mhm.” he mumbled, continuing to shower her with kisses.
“I’m ready.”
It took a moment for Zac to register what she had just read. “What?” he mumbled against her lips.
Vanessa pulled back, looking into a frozen Zac. “I’m ready.” she repeated.
Realization dawned into him. “Are you sure.”
“I have never been more sure. I love you so much Zac.”
He smiled happily. Quickly turning off the iPod, he left the device on the cart, knowing no one will be get to it, then with Vanessa in his arms, the two rushed back to the cabin.
