Last week I was watching a song writer that I like being interviewed. I love seeing people who had a rough life and that are able to express the lessons that they learned from it. It is even better when they express this in the first person saying “for me” it was... or “I” learned that “for me”...
I can pass days with friends but the moment I cherish the most is when they open themselves and talk about who they are, about what they believe and what are their worries, dreams and goals. I found these moments exhilarating and they always leave me reassessing my own believes. In short, it helps me grow even if in the end, it didn’t change what I believe in; it permits me to see things with a different light (with the light of their experiences and the light of their hearts).
Anyway, here are two of the sentences that stuck with me that night:
-Memories are the means by which we carry our dead with us and that helps us to deal with our lost...
-You can never fill the holes in your heart. I tried with alcohol but it just flow right through them. You can only adorn them to make them more bearable...
(These are only bad translation of what he said)
The past few days, while I was waiting for my final papers and my recommendation letters, I follow an old Quebecers saying; I did a lot of cleaning to help me feeling better (and it does work ;) )
