What a nice week

Long time since my last update…..

April went by and I don’t have much to say about it if not for my boss announcing me, two weeks before the dead line, that we wouldn’t do the inventory for another month(until the end of May/beginning of June).

I bought myself a gallon of Maple syrup (made by uncle’s brother) and I’ll go to my father’s place this week to pick it up. This should sustain us until the beginning of next year.

Money is still very tight but we do enjoy life more and more as the warm weather is settling down.

Zets the raccoon arrived home last Tuesday for a nice visit. It was really pleasant to come back home and see him for so many reasons. First and foremost, he is a very good friend that life had kept away from me this past year (we were both too busy to keep a meaningful contact).

I noticed that my mate was feeling happier and more energetic. I am sure that it was much more interesting having a friend around instead of being alone all day.

It was a good break from the routine we had fallen into. I am sure that the effect of his visit will be felt for the next few months to come. It will spice our life (my mate and I).

It was nice to have a very cuddling raccoon for me and my mate to take care of.

Finally but not least, it gave us the excuse we needed to touch down with other friends.

There is something more to this and I don’t think he would mind me saying so. I have known him for nearly five years now. In that time, he went through some tough time in his life. I was there to help him some when needed and instead of avoiding me once he was over his troubles (like almost everyone else I helped in my life did) he kept working on our friendship.

I can’t describe the pleasure I experienced or the pride I felt in thinking that I played a small role in what he has become as I saw him entertaining the kids Sunday.

Even with him home, my schedule didn’t permit me to enjoy his presence much until Saturday. I would have had more time for him Friday night but he went to see “Le Cirque du Soleil” so me and my mate used that time to take a nice walk and then to enjoy a movie at home.

Saturday I cooked all day while Zets and my mate went to the museum and by the time they came back home, most of the cooking was over and done (Beef cooked in beer and orage, beef Stroganoff, ham in maple syrup, chocolate cake, and a pear and lemon cake).

They came back home just in time to go fetch some pops before the arrival of my Master and Ryan.

I had called them (my Master and Ryan) to see if it would be possible to go clubbing in a leather bar with our fursuits and I invited them for diner when they told me that they hadn’t much to do that evening. I was really surprised on how energetic was their answer. Usually my Master doesn’t really fancy taking the public transport to come visit me.

The evening was really pleasant. We left home a bit before 10PM and went to the dungeon so they could change for the night. We went directly to the Tunnel while my Master and Ryan went the Black Eagle. Arriving at the Tunnel, we met the manager of the fetish section of the bar. He was thrill to have us there and greeted us with a warm welcome.

We made our way downstairs and started to dance (mainly my mate and Zets). Let’s just say that we were the centre of attention that night. My Master and Ryan joined with us around midnight and we all left a bit past 1AM. I drove back home, we took care of our fursuit, took a shower and all went to bed.

Sunday I woke them at 8AM and we slowly started to get ready for the brunch meet. I completely checked my fursuit and then we watched some short videos. As I was putting on my fursuit, I tore some stitches at the shoulder (it is a very tight fit and I almost have to do contortions just to get in or out of it).  I ended up in a rush to take it off, fetch the sewing machine and fix it before trying to put in on again (and that was the only time Murphy’s Law hit us that week).

We arrived 7 min late at the restaurant but that was in advance in furry time ;). The food was good and the company was great.

After the meal, we all met again outside the restaurant to see what people wanted to do that day. I told them that I would have liked to go play Mini Putt but since it wasn’t open yet, that we were going to chill out at Angrignon’s park (which is a very big park with many different sections). Most of them decided to come chill out with us.

I had brought a football, a Frisbee and a Track ball set. We chatted out in the park, and everyone at one point or another played with the games available.  But the best part of the day was to see all the attention the coon was subjected to all day long. Many wonderful photos were taken that day.

A bit before 5PM the group split in two. We went home and the others went to eat at the restaurant. I was so tired that I let Zets and my mate take care of the diner while I checked my e-mails. I was searching for a specific photo and as I was looking for it on my Flickr account, I noticed that someone had sent me an e-mail (which was a great surprise to me since I don’t have many friends their and not many people go and look at my photos). It was someone asking my permission to use one of my pictures for the “Schmap Montreal Guide”. I was too late for this year but they were asking me to answer them even if I saw the e-mail too late since they might use it in the future. I answered that it was OK with me. I have to admit that I felt a certain joy that someone acknowledged a certain quality to my photos.  I lay down on the cough; I put on a Pink Panther anime DVD and fell asleep on the first ten minutes while I was waiting for diner.

My mate woke me up with a very smelly and tasty hot chicken plate under my nose which I wolfed down in no time.

A bit after diner, Feli and Firebreath came home to share the pictures taken that day and we watch a few movies (Hoodwinked and the Tales of Despereaux). We kind of watch the first movie while cuddling a bit and the second movie ended up just being some background noise while we chatted and cuddled more.

I left Pop and Coon make better acquaintance and cuddle while I chatted with Feli about life and about the new convention’s project. Too soon it was midnight and they left while we went to bed.

I felt bad to wake up Zets this morning before leaving for work but I wanted to make sure to give him my goodbyes to him and make sure to let him know how I enjoyed his visit and his friendship. The sadness I felt as I left for work is a proof of how delightful his visit was.

My next short term project is to plan my first week of vacation this year. It is now decided that I will take a week in July to go south and visit some furends. We would like to make a loop passing through Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts (with a stop in Boston to go see the “Blue Man Group”), Connecticut, New York, and maybe Pennsylvania before coming back home.

It is so nice to feel alive again.
