I had a blast last weekend.
Well, granted that I wasn’t able to watch ERG perform in this year’s Jameng’g contest (they got 2nd place, btw, so kudos to them) but I got to watch Goong (or Princess Hours here) since Friday night. I was finally able to finish said series at around 2am Sunday morning. But boy it was worth it.

[1] Chaegyung was great. The actress portraying her was really effective. You can really feel her pain and sadness. Basta. Go Chaegyung! And yeah, Jem-san’s correct. She gets prettier as the season progressed. Chaegyung comes from a middle-class family and studies Art in her high school, wanting to be a successful designer in the future. She hates Shin Goon but she had to consent to marry him because of the gramps’s promise. Eh basta yun, pauper turns to princess. Ang kulit niya though.
[2] Crown Prince Lee Shin. At first you’ll hate him with the fire of a thousand suns but he’ll grow on you. Pero naman parang the pot calling the kettle black eto kung mainis ako sa kanya kasi alam ko ganun din ako no. He cares, oo, but in his own weird and twisted way.
[3] Dae Goon Yul. At first I felt for him and it’s really hard to be on the unrequited side of the tracks but demmit, can’t he just accept the fact that Chaegyung thinks of him as merely a friend and nothing more than that? Isa kang malaking EPAL. Dae Goon.
[4] Min Hyorin, the ballerina a.k.a. Shin Goon’s ex-girlfriend. Kawawa siya. You can’t actually blame her for being that way. How’d you feel if the one you love gets snatched away because you didn’t grab him when you got the chance? Effin’ hell di ba? Basta, Hyorin is a 3D character and you can’t help but sympathize with her. Hyejeonggung, the mother of Yul, used her as a pawn in her plans to reclaim the throne. Poor Hyorin. She looks perfect, almost the most popular girl in school but she has a secret of her own. Like I said, 3D character itetch.
Hay kapagod. Madami pa characters eh. Favorite ko especially si Ate ni Shin Goon (Princess Hyaemung). Sobrang smart eh. Fit to be the queen. Astig! Plus isa pa pala, yung barkada ni Chaegyung lalo na yung nakaglasses (swan daw according sa isang barkada ni Shin Goon). Teka, ang cool rin pala ni TaeHwang TaeHu Mama (Queen Dowager). Ang liit ng lola na ito nakakakilabot. Pero ang kyots ng scenes niya with Chaegyung. At pati pala yung assistant ni Chaegyung, si Choi Sang Goon (oo, Lady Choi pero di siya kagaya nung Lady Choi sa Janggeum). Ang cool! Saka ang ganda niya nung minake-over siya ni Chaegyung hahaha. Ang kukulit din nung 2 alipores ni Chaegyung, pinaghula-hoop ang mga pormal-pormalan na mga sang goon eh.
Basta :
Chaegyung - kulit.
Shin Goon - aaaah! kilig on national television!
Yul Goon - epal kaaaaaaaa! epal! ayaw na nga sa ‘yo mapilit ka pa rin! buset.
Hye Jung Gung (Yul’s mother) - buset ka! ang sarap mo batuhin. para kang si lady choi! argh.
Pyeha (King) - isa ka pang buset ka, ipokrito!
Queen - i feel for you, madir, i feel for you.
Choi Sang Goon - yay, makakapag-asawa ka na.
Queen Mother - woohoo coolness! \m/ rock on!

Not only did I get to watch Goong uninterrupted but I also got to spend some time browsing through the Ukay stores in Aurora with Lowla Trinjy and her sister Barn-Barn. Astig! I got myself 2 winter jackets and ang lupit pa nung isa. 280 lang. Woohoo! Now I know why people get addicted to Ukay-Ukay. Thanks Lowla.
