Oh, now I'm going to be on a damn LJ kick.
Nothing new to report, also on an infomania backepisode kick. I fucking love Conor Knighton. Like, way too much. Unhealthy amounts. He's so damn endearing.
And Sarah Haskin's replacement is totally growing on me.
But lo! I come bearing more links, these more recently discovered, but no less uninteresting to most people but me.
Er...enjoy!

Meltdown Comics/Gallery is hosting an awesome exhibit, entitled "These are their stories." It's Law & Order themed! They asked several artists to illustrate what they imagine from one-line episode summaries of real episodes of Law&Order. The results are mostly fucking awesome, mostly fucking hysterical, and I positively love the variety that turned out. PLUS the gallery showing includes free ice cream and cake. HOW CAN YOU SAY NO?! Here are a few of my favorites:
A Lawyer is Secretly a Stripper
Radiation Kills a Tormented Scientist
Goren Takes on a Chess Master
Cute.
-So apparently, with over a million views, I'm totally late to this At-At party. And while I'm obviously not a Star Wars nerdlinger (though you'd never guess from the amount of SW crap I post), this is god damned adorable. I want one! <--which I'm fairly positive is the reaction of every single person who viewed this.

-Missing the boat for the fourh of July here, but these light paintings make me think of nothing but sparkler writing. Artist/photographer
Rafoto makes some striking neon stick figure light paintings. Weirdly evocative, emotionally, for how simple they are. Makes me want to see a short film about light people. Which probably already exists. Lovely, bright stuff.
But anyways.
-Japanese art duo
Haroshi has an awesome version of basically cremating your board, then resurrecting it as something way more awesome. Art! Hah!
They hand select used skateboards for every bit of the sculptures, and imbibe each piece with a bit of a wrecked skateboard, invisible to the audience. It's a Buddhist thing, I guess. They also put a crystal ball in the stomach of every Buddha statue. Eastern religions aside, LOOK IT LOOKS LIKE A MOOSE!
-So, Bambi's stupid mirror motif (her only idea, I think) can go fuck itself. THIS is how you use mirrors for messages. Contemporary artist
Bohyun Yoon makes some really sharp pieces with some really cool execution. This mirror mask was inspired by his story of trying to learn english upon immigrating to the USA. He says the most effective tool was using body language and facial expression to decipher meaning, so the mirror mask was born to exaggerate and emphasize the true communicable talent of face muscles. Universality of body language, I like it. Plus, the photos are striking by themselves, without the thoughtful backing concept.
His other stuff is a lot more experimental. Risky, in how sexual and depersonalizing it is, but I think it pays off. It's pretty in your face art, but not invasive. Just...there, bluntly. Endless reflections of bodies, isolated body parts, and an amazing video at the link of performance art with male and female nude models, being split and rejoined over and over by mirrors. Beautiful. Unsettling. Sterile, almost scientific with the clean, white lines and background. Anatomy, but, like, mutant anatomy. c
Eh. That's all I feel like digging up. So yes, the last thing I've left you with was the man's hairy self. And his cock. Mirrored, so...MANY hairy cocks! Love you, too, reader.
