I know the pediatrician told me to keep Elias away from public places as much as possible for the first 2 months, but what do I do then? Sit at home and lose my mind? So far I have managed to avoid taking him to public places. The last time I went to Wegmans my mom waited in the car with Elias while I did my grocery shopping. Yesterday I had Hassan wait in the car with him while I ran into Target. I'm not sure I'll be able to do that for the next month and a half. I would of course feel like the worst mommy in the world if I did take him to a public place and he were to become sick. I think the pediatrician did a pretty good at scaring me by telling me that if Elias gets a fever he'd have to be hospitalized. No parent wants that for their child.
Anyway, I was thinking of taking him out for a walk today. That's not the same as taking him to a public place with tons of people and germs. I'm not sure if taking him out for a walk would be a no-no as well. I'm going by the Finnish guidelines. *laughs* In Finland people walk to most places and babies go along in their prams of course. According to the Finns, it's alright to take a newborn outside after the first 2 weeks as long as it's no colder than -10 celsius. It's supposed to get up to 4 degrees celsius (something like 41 fahrenheit) today and it looks sunny outside. I just might give it a try today. I'll bundle him up very well.
