In other countries, where innovation and inderstrialization are on its highest level, reparing a broken appliance or gadget isn't an option. (My example here is Japan) They dump their broken things and buy/manufacture new ones. Philippines fix this appliances and sells them at a cheap price. These "new" products are what we call "surplus". Oftentimes, Japan surplus is said to be the best surplus. I kinda agree.

A/N: Yes, never underestimate Japan surplus! Me myself, my TV's a surplus and it's doing just fine even if I abuse it for hours, watching anime on DVDs, lol.
