Putting everything back together...
Summer has been crazy as nothing else. So, first, the lowdown.
I've been working an internship, a job, and a volunteer gig (ARF). I rarely get days off, which left little or no time for me to fix my poor HP laptop, which fried. More on that later. I've gotten most of my Mairu sweatshirt done, just need to add the ears. I haven't even started the skirt though, or gotten boots. Worst comes to worse, mom has a pair of boots I can use. >_< I haven't even started the sword prop for my Saya cosplay, either! Too much work and no free time to work on that stuff. Oh, and I need a wig.
My internship is finally over, thank the gods. I honestly came to hate it. I was doing traffic control and accounting, and that's not what I went there for. The experience wasn't even something that I'd say was worth the time I spent there. But now that's over. It ended on Wednesday, and I am so glad.
ARF has been arfy, and a highlight of my week, as usual. There are SO MANY cats and kittens there right now. My favorites are Polly (the momma cat), Kit-kat (a little grey love bug of a kitty), and, ironically, the boys - Simon, Scooby, Tommy, and Teddi. They always greet me with loud meowing and plenty of licks and cuddles for me. I'd love to adopt even just one of them. But that's pretty impossible when I'm living in a dorm and then abroad.
And then my job-job, cashier at Home Depot. Which has been great, despite crazy hours and the havoc it's wreaking on my previously injured knee. I might need to get it checked out, because it's been absolutely horrible. Just now I had to go and get my leg brace to put on my knee, because it was so stiff and achy. >_< But I am making a good amount of money, which has been a blessing, because my computer fried and I had to pay for half of my new one. Which leads me to...
NEW LAPTOP. I got a Toshiba, and I like it, but I'm still getting used to it. The keyboard is really clicky, not quite worn in enough yet. The space bar is particularly loud. Which is why I decided to update my livejournal, so that it would get a bit of use and hopefully not be so loud. XD Because it is annoying the hell out of me. Lol.
Basically, my HP shorted out and fried during a power surge (thunderstorm) since the fan basically quit working, too. Whoo-hoo. And when it fried, not only did it die, it melted my logic board (the part that controls the Hard drive). So, while there's still my stuff on my harddrive, I can't get to it because the logic board is melted. BUT. LUCK. Someone my mom knows, who fixed her own fried computer, says that it spins (aka it's working) and that he can replace my logic board and get all my info off of it! Now, I just hope he can do it before I leave for Finland. On Friday. @_@
Anyhow: busy busy busy! I'm looking forward to Finland and getting a break. Hopefully I still have my job when I return. ;___; That's a scary unknown.
BUT: I have a 6am store meeting tomorrow morning, which means I am going to bed ASAP, since I have to get up at 5. Ick.
I guess my next update will be during Finland.
