If it makes you feel any better (which it likely won't) I often feel disappointed on my birthday. I remember one distinct year, maybe last year or the year before, where I didn't get any happy birthday wishes from my parents until I specifically said "so... do you have anything to say to me?" did i get an "oh yah! happy birthday" or something to that effect...
Anyways... that's my long winded way of saying you are not wrong to be upset but try not to think too much about it... you are well loved. :)
I think its one of those things where you (everyone) try to "be an adult" and not make a big deal out of anything but then secretly you still want people like your parents to acknowledge things like birthdays with something meaningful.
Try not to worry about it too much...but next year demand a cake with 28 candles and they better all be lit! :D
Yup I think you are right. and maybe next year I'll demand TWO cakes! lol...
The worst part was when I mentioned to my mother today that she never even wished me happy birthday, and she said she thought she had. and then she said they didn't get me a present because when they asked I said I didn't know what I wanted and well she did hem those two pairs of pants and is altering that jacket for me so that can be my birthday present.
Am I wrong to think that turning something she had already been going to do for me (like 4 months ago) into my erstwhile birthday gift is a little... I dunno.... weird???
