I don't understand why Hillary Clinton is like, barely to the right of Ghandi.
On this topic, now that you've been in Canada a few weeks, how do you feel about the politics there? Do you notice a big difference? Is it what you expected in terms of that?
It's interesting, cause I have a few friends who are VERY into politics, with views that might be considered fairly extreme, so I don't know that I'm getting a representative sample as far as individuals go.. but in the news I've noticed a lot more about government, and more details. Less of the filler-type stuff that is fed to Americans under the guise of being actual news.
I'll admit, I haven't exactly been following politics terribly closely, but people seem well-informed about issues. Or at least, those who follow the news are expected to be (obviously there's apathy too). I read an article about Ontario not permitting sharia law, and instead of explaining five different ways what sharia law is, as would happen in the states, they got into details. It was rather refreshing.
In general I don't know a huge amount about Canadian politics yet, but what I do know, I like. I love the system of accountability, and needing a vote of confidence. Ohhhhhh what I wouldn't give for one of those in America right now....
Is that center-left (actually center-right, but representing center-left) guy Adam Sandler, because I've got serious issues with any test that tells me my political beliefs are closest to Adam Sandler.
tomorrow night i'm going to rochester NY for something called small bar BIG ANTHEMS, which consists of cheesy hhc anthems all night, and super cheap beer. you can't beat that!!
next weekend there's a party called marmalade that i'm hitting up on friday night (i'm going camping the rest of the weekend).
the weekend after that (october 8th) is sweet dreams, put on by timmy and george. it will DEFINITELY be a good time. slumber-party themed rave!!
you should definitely sign up for purerave, and check out the events section. they've got everything under the sun listed there. http://my.purerave.com/join.php?r=60812
