If you got the reference in the title, you get 50 cool points. :D

Why did I never pay attention to the existence of the Rich text option for submitting journal entries before??  SO MUCH EASIER, OHMAHGAH.  *headdesk*
I have this hate-hate relationship with html.  I'm basically technologically inept and fiddling around with tags and all that jazz and trying to remember the difference between what bracketed letters do what drives me nuts.

Plus, ADDING them to something I've already typed up in Word (and I use A LOT of italics) takes FOREVERRRRR.

Hellloooo easy button~

Happy Veteran's Day, by the way.

I had no idea why we used red poppies to celebrate this holiday until my History class today.  It's a reference to the the poem, In Flanders Field by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.
You're probably familiar with it: In Flanders Fields the poppies blow/Between the crosses row on row...etc.

Speaking of the color red, I was walking to class today and saw a cute boy wearing a bright red Christmas sweater with a polar bear on it.
It ABSOLUTELY made my day.
I almost went up to him and gave him a hug but I was late to History and didn't want to be a creeper.  Hahahaha.

In other news, I watched the movie Only Yesterday (おもひでぽろぽろ).

I have to say, it is probably my favorite Studio Ghibli film that I've seen so far.  I've always had a soft spot for those slice-of-life/character study types of film.
It basically follows this 27-year-old Tokyo woman as she visits the country and she reminisces about her 10-year-old self and just...reflects on her life.

The voice acting is spectacular and the detail in the animation is just breathtaking.

Too bad it was never released in the US.  *shakes fist at Disney*
One of my friends lent it to me, it's part of a bootleg Ghibli collection that she has.  Maybe I'll have to invest in one, haha.

Anyhow, I HIGHLY recommend it. :)

Also, I want Joe Hisaishi to write the score for my life.  It would be SO PRETTY all the tiiimmeeee.  Hahahaha.

Quotes:
Me: Can we not talk about this as I'm making my dinner?
Kim:  Oh.  Sometimes I forget that I have roommates that are...
Me: Squeamish?
Kim:  Yeah.  Nothing really grosses me out.
Me:  Okay, Miss "I cut open dead people and drain their fluids".
Kim:  ...you say that like it's a bad thing.

The joys of having a mortician for a roommate.  :)
