“Damn it Yoochun, why won’t you pick up!” Jaejoong shouted in frustrated, re-dialling and getting the exact same result. Nothing.
The brunette had his phone to his ear while he dashed around the room collecting his clothing and packing them into his suit case. He had approximately twenty six hours before he had to be on the plane, in the early morning. It was very short notice, but the position had just opened up. He had been working almost two years for a possible opening like this. He couldn’t just give it up, not now.
But there was one thing that tugged at his heart. Yoochun. He would be leaving Yoochun, the thought was unbearable, tormenting him, but he prayed Yoochun would understand his decision. Korea only brought him pain, the broken promised and regrets were all so vivid.
But among the things he felt, there was another emotion that may have claimed his sanity.
The thought of leaving Korea would almost certainly mean the end of him and Yunho.
A new life.
A fresh start.
Why was it that at this point, he thought of him? His orbs misted with uncertainly.
A small part of him held onto the hope of his first love. And that small part on him clung on, and that was his worst fear.
That he would never forget.
But something shadowed that, a bigger fear that he would forget.
He had worked so hard for eight years, some marriages didn’t even last that long. But even with everything that stopped them, they had been so damn happy.
He poured his heart and soul into that boy for eight years; he watched him grow, learn, love, become so much more than he had expected.
And then the reason why he left stabs him deeper than he could ever comprehend.
Jaejoong had never come to terms with it; refusing to talk to anyone about the last few months of having spent with Yunho, before he found it in him, to get away. The emotions were always compressed by his pride.
Not even did he talk to Yoochun about it. The latter had tried, easing into the topic but Jaejoong iced over, he turned colder into a state where he almost withdrew. And that’s when he knew that even the mention of it would tear him apart.
The brunette sat down slowly, body falling to the edge of the sofa. “I had to leave, I couldn’t have stayed in a relationship like that” he spoke a loud, almost hoping that someone would be there to tell him it was the right thing to do, someone to tell him that it wasn’t a rash decision.
Someone to tell him that leaving wasn’t the biggest mistake of his life.
The latter shock his head refusing to think about this anymore.
Yunho was the past.
And any regrets had to stay there too.

“Humm, what do you want to be when your older?” the smaller boy asked, silently cuddling into the side of his boyfriend; who graciously expected the ‘skin-ship’ and wrapped his arm around the slim frame.
“I guess that I’ll take over appa’s company” he replied, lazily stroking the blonds arm with his thumb.
He immediately looked up, eyes looking into the older boys. “I said what you want to be, not what your father wants from you” the tone coming off a little bit harsher than he had intended.
Yunho frowned, losing his grip on the boy. “JaeJae, we talked about this.. It’s my duty to take it over. Appa has worked almost all his life building his company up so he could look after me and Umma.”
Jaejoong sat up, pushing Yunho’s arms at little so they fell into his own lap. “But it’s not what you want is it?”
He sighed softly.
“Yun, I would just hate to see you waste your life building up a company. You know how business men are; they have to live by so many constraints. They always have to have a perfect image even if it’s not really who they are. The business is what comes first, and then all they care about is how much money they have. What mansions they are going to buy and what slut they are going to fuck” he paused. “I don’t want to see that happening to you”
The older boy immediately encircled his arms around Jaejoong again, drawing him closer and whispering “I wont ever be like that” he kissed the side if his cheek.
“It’s my fate Jae; I can’t disappoint my father-- not when he’s done so much for me. Your free Jae, you can do anything your heart tells you too.. As long as you’re happy, I’ll always be happy”
Jaejoong leaned his head back, letting his eyes slowly close as he breathed in the cool air; enjoying his lover’s warmth “Then... I’ll live my dream, for the both of us.”

“Yoochun please for God’s sake pick up!” He shouted in frustration as his held the phone to his ear, yet again. It had gone straight to voice mail. He ruffled his hair and sighed and took a deep breath.
“Yoochun, I don’t know what I did wrong..Are you ignoring me? Yoochun-ah you know I hate it when we fight. I’m sorry..for whatever I did. It’s just Changmin and Junsu, it’s hard for me..Look I need to tell you something really important.” He sighs. “I might as well tell you. I’m moving to Japan permanently, a job offer opened up. I’m leaving at six tomorrow. I hope I’ll see you before I go” He pressed down on the end call button and sighed softly.
He licked his lips and stood up. “I need to finish packing” he muttered.
***
“I’m on study leave” he rolled his eyes. “I can’t believe I’m younger than you, you’re so stupid” he muttered.
“Yay! How can you say that to your hyung? Yours such a brat Shim Changmin”.
Changmin ignored him as he carried of typing up his final draft for his literature essay. “I might be a brat, but I’m a cleaver one”
Junsu’s face twisted “and arrogant too, no wonder they gave you early study leave”
The taller boy sharply turned his head back, shooting a glare at the older man. “Leave. Now” he said calmly.
He pouted “I’m sorry okay?” He sat down next to him. “College is a pain, but I’m proud of you none the less.” He smiled sincerely.
“Thanks” he smiled briefly as he turned back to his work, typing away.
Changmin decided it was best to forget about his hidden desire for Junsu. Nothing would ever come of it. After a few awkward days things began to place back into their normal schedule. Yoochun, Junsu and Changmin were back to how they use to be. Even though things around them had changed so much.
Junsu stood up, and made his way to the kitchen. There he saw Yoochun slouched over on the wide mahogany table, black glasses rimmed his face and ebony hair messily tied behind his head. His long fingers taped at the wood beneath them, while his right hand held a pencil that scribbled down, what he presumed where lyrics of some sort.
It was a sight to see the man in full concentration, face expressing seriousness and an aura that you just couldn’t describe.
Junsu held his breath a little, trying not to catch his intense gaze. He loved him when he was like that. No, to say that he loves him would be more accurate. Undying or faltering warmth for the older man lay in his heart.
But yet he could do nothing about it. Yoochun; as good a friend he was, was brutal when it came to lovers. He had never had any sort of long term relationship. He said he was playboy, a man that held many hearts; but to accept any would be out of the question. A lone prince, you could love but only hoped to be loved.
And that terrified Junsu. How could he ever whish for anything more when it was painfully obvious that nothing would come of his feeling.
His friendship was hard to gain, but his love-an impossible and fruitless pursuit.
And it was something that he didn’t think he was strong enough for.

Fast beats and low base music, seas of dancing bodies and colourful lights filled the large club.
And Yoochun sat at the bar, a tall slim women, long dark hair, fair complexion, round eyes and sharp features; sat on his lap.
She gave the impression that she didn’t do this often; you could go as far as saying she could be someone that you would introduce to your parents a permanently lover or wife. But she shamelessly fell for Yoochun’s charm. Whimpering as he ravished her ruthlessly.
She was just another fuck for Yoochun.
Junsu sat a little away, engaged with the bottle of alcohol he held. Wishing, praying that Yoochun would stop, see him.
He looked across, only to see him get up, taking her hand and leading her out.
‘Just another fuck’ He though hopefully.
She meant nothing to him; they would probably never encounter again.
And that gave him a little more hope.
He sighed and got up.
“I love you Yoochun, I hope that one day you’ll see”
***
“I promise to visit you”
“I’ll look forward to it” he smiled sadly.
“I’ll miss you JaeJae..I’m so sorry that I couldn’t say goodbye in person”
“No, enjoy your holiday Hyun Joong! It not like we won’t meet again” he tried to should cheery. “I bet you’re busy, I’ll call when I’m in Japan okay?”
“Love you Jae, I’ll look forward to it, Have a safe journey”
“Don’t let Go Min Ah catching you say that!” he heard the other man chuckle and he smile a little. “I’ll see you soon then, bye”
“Bye”
He hung up. He had finished calling everyone important about his move. He even contemplated telling Changmin, Junsu and Yunho. But quickly decided against it, there was no point in re lighting old flames; especially if they would only burn the people holding the candles.
He checked his phone and sighed, Yoochun wasn’t answering; maybe, maybe he really didn’t care.
With a heavy heart Jaejoong finished packing everything last thing he would need. Everything apart from what he carried would get shipped over to Japan once he left; courtesy of the company.
Jaejoong picked up his bags, and head to the door, looking back at the clock.
‘Only an hour till my plane leaves.’
***
Jaejoong’s head hung low, the locks of his brown hair covering his eyes, the eyes that held so much loneliness. He rubbed them hastily now wanting to reveal his weakened state to the prying eyes of the world.
Five minutes until he had to board the plane, yet not a word form Yoochun. Not even a reason.
He felt stupid for crying, but inside he was still as tender as the young boy he was.
He had walked away from Yunho; and he had to stay strong after that. He couldn’t pity himself, he couldn’t be weak.
But he was, weak for even thinking of him.
Maybe Yoochun had seen that weakness to, the weakness that Yunho took advantage of.
“Sir, please board the plane.”
He shook out of his thoughts and stood up.
He looked back bitterly. ‘Goodbye Korea’
