Big Changes
Well, it's been a while since I last updated. Two significant things happened...one good and one not so good. First the not so good- grandma passed away last Wednesday after a long illness. I've known the end was near for her for a long time, but I still got upset. I cried at funeral. I loved her very much, and I'll miss her.
Now the good...I changed my major. After a long talk and self-reflection, the latter of which I normally detest, I decided that my heart wasn't in social work. My passion is in history and always has been. Luckily, I applied to the graduate history program at Southern just before the deadline (the deadline was the next day). Now I just have to wait to hear from them if I'm accepted and go from there. I'm going to be a lot happier studying history.
And before you ask, no I will become a history teacher. I don't know what I'll "do with it", but that's the cool part. For the first time in my life, my future isn't completely structured and planned. I think I like that.
